"Alt-right" trolls don't argue in good faith. The term was originally created by neo--godwinslaw!- and white supremacists with the intention of making their brand of radical conservatism more palpable to the general public. Many people have fallen for this trick. Their standard mode of operation is to confuse, dismiss, and deflect, employing whataboutism, disinformation and dog whistles in order to disrupt conversations and spread their propaganda. They do this because their ideology cannot be honestly defended. They know their true agenda is repulsive, so they lie about it, both to others and themselves.
You may have encountered people who claim "The West is at war with Islam!", and that because leftists deny this and defend Muslims, the conflict is one of right-versus-left. Members of the alt-right would like you to believe that they are "defenders of Western culture". These are lies, whether those who peddle them actually believe them or not. The truth is that both the alt-right and Islamic extremist organizations like ISIS are radically conservative. The difference between the beliefs, ideals, and goals of the two are minor; ISIS mostly just practices the wrong religion and is associated with the wrong race. In fact, the manufactured conflict between the two is mutually beneficial.
Both are reactionary movements driven by fear and hate. In order to seize power, gain wealth, and control the lives of the people they rule, they must label perceived out-groups as "other", as enemies. For the alt-right the primary enemy is "Islam" (which can also mean "brown people"). For groups like ISIS, the primary enemy is "The West". Anyone who won't go along with their nonsense is also labeled an enemy, of course, but big, vague, monolithic threats are more useful for recruitment.
Because the ideology largely centers around conflict with the designated "other", it is extremely nationalistic and militaristic, encouraging violence and hero-worship of political leaders and the military. Because of the ideology's inherent dishonesty, and because the educated often pose a threat to its dogmatic purity, it is anti-science, anti-intellectual, disdainful of the arts, and promotes revisionist history. Religion is employed as a tool to create divisiveness and maintain a rigid social order, where women and sexual "deviants" are oppressed.
Every terrorist attack and atrocity is leveraged in order to radicalize moderates, consolidating a power base and inciting reprisal attacks on the enemy, enabling them in turn to grow and return the favor with ever greater ferocity. The two have a symbiosis; they feed off of each other. The alt-right could not exist without radical Islam, and radical Islam will continue to thrive under the influence of the alt-right.
TL;DR: -blam!- Donald Trump.
This was a poor use of my time.

12 RepliesEdited by Dr Livingston 9: 6/21/2017 12:59:26 AMMuslims usually vote democrat. Your making a ton of assumptions on liberals and conservatives when there are many different kinds of liberals and conservatives. comparing left and right is a distraction. the true distinction is between authoritarian and libertarian.

3 RepliesI always wondered why we didn't have more 'trolls' going after the conservatives on Bnet. It just seems like a much easier target given how many of them there are. Way to step up.

14 RepliesMan you are full of it aren't you, someone in Europe needs to take a stand against the foreign invaders on their doorstep and in their home. The west is at war with Islam, they want to tear down everything we hold dear. You've just gone and convinced yourself that" nah, it's just reactionary right wingers" when it isn't. We praise leaders and soldiers because of what they do to ensure our freedom. We praise them because we aren't speaking German, Russian, or Japanese right now. As far as I'm concerned, we as American citizens have a responsibility to defend our way of life, and protect our homes and neighbors from all threats both foreign and domestic.

27 RepliesWhy the heck does there have to even be a division? Has anyone not learned anything? The left can stop calling the right nazis and racists, and the right can stop calling the left feminazi morons. The Division in America is getting bad. People on both sides are getting violent. Has no one learned anything from the civil war? Turmoil between citizens brings the country down. This is America, not the land where we kill eachother over a fricking orangutan.

6 RepliesEdited by Armani: 6/21/2017 5:22:37 AMDISCLAIMER: When I refer to "alt-right" and "left-wing" people, I am not so much talking about regular everyday citizens talking about these matters, I mean people who are in some way, shape, or form in a public spotlight so-to-speak (e.g. news reporters, talkshow hosts, journalists, etc.). I agree, the "alt-right trolls", as you call them, are not arguing in good faith and neither is the left. In fact, the entire idea of 'left vs right' politics is so misguided, superficial, and simplistic that it fails to do any justice to what's truly happening in the world at present. In fact this dichotomous system is part of the control/disinformation system currently in place. So to that end, trying to pin the issue on one side or the other (in your case alt-right folks as being equal with ISIS) is futile and misses the essence of the matter. As a sidenote, however, I have to point out that your comment about a certain 'neo' group of people is completely incorrect because they were not conservative as many people like to claim, nor were they left wing/liberal as claimed by others. They were their own seperate ideology, which has been the greatest lied about group to ever exist. The truth about what really happened during the world wars has been concealed to such great lengths that we are all suffering the consequences, and most don't even know it. But, I digress. You mention that the so-called "alt-right" needing radical Islam to survive, and your correct to a certain but very precise extent. If by the alt-right you mean people who constantly attack Islam, then yes - because there is a certain degree of monetary incentive. However, there is something much more sophisticated happening that explains why these "alt-right people" attack Islam. Remember how I mentioned that the idea about 'right vs left' politics is so simplistic and problematic? Well without getting into too much detail, what I am saying is that the idea that Democrats/Liberals/Left and Republicans/Conservatives/Right are fighting for different causes is a huge illusion because, once looked at carefully, you will notice that there is a power structure which actually controls both parties, and I can promise you it's not the simple 'illuminati is run by the celebrities and elites' picture. That's only part of it, but like I said, it's much more sophisticated. The "alt-right" is just another group designed to look like they are something different or cutting-edge, but you can be sure they are simply pushing a larger agenda for a group of elites much higher up than any position in our government. Don't get me wrong though, Islam is a big problem for many complicated reasons which I won't go into here - but the important thing to understand is the alt-right, much like the left, is helping to push a strong sense of dissaproval of Islam because this specific elite group of people is direct enemies with Islam also, and they would rather paint the Muslims as the problem to distract the world's attention away from them, who are the real puppeteers that have been plunging the world deeper into despair over many years. There's a ton more to be said about the issues you raise, but in short, just know that when trying to talk about these issues in the form of 'left vs right' politics, as many people do, it is so far removed from the truth of our current worldy situation that it cannot even begin to do justice to the topic at hand. If you have any questions feel free to pm me, I'd be happy to further explain - that goes for anyone else as well! ;D Best wishes to you all, and may we unite in light of the truth!

1 ReplyAnd what have you to say about the left? They claim to be the champions of diversity, tolerance, peace, love, and anti violence, yet we know that's far from true. They violently shut down anyone and everyone that disagrees with them and label anyone who has a different opinion as a some sort of bigot, essentially labeling them as an "enemy", as you claim ISIS and the Alt-Right do to those different from them. I honestly don't see how any rational person can commit themselves to one side. Both the far right and the "progressive" left are terrible groups of people who push their opinions as hard facts.

I feel like I'm losing my mind in this world. I was taught as a kid to be respectful, nice, sharing, caring, and act my age. Treat others the way they treat you. And I grew up, and realized as an adult, living by those rules will get you absolutely nowhere and be screwed over by others who don't use those rules... Because it's not illegal, only frowned upon by social media. We got people who have screwed over millions of people, and all they have to do is plead the fifth. So many many problems in this world. So many. And we focus on our own problems. Which is why very few major problems are solved, especially for those with little money or power. It's a big pyramid scheme is what it is.

3 RepliesEdited by DocSmurf: 6/20/2017 9:03:29 AMThere is no such thing as the "alt right" It's a catch all boggy man term used by the Main stream Media to mean "Anything that doesn't align with our morality" historically the right were the authoritarian moralizers however recently it looks like the "left" has taken up that mantle under the veil of Political correctness. THe alt right is anyone that dares to question them... left right be damned I mean everyone from literally White supremacists like Spencer to liberal youtubers like Dave Rubin and Sargon of Akkad are being labeled as "alt right" . That term is just another in a long line of derogatory slurs coming from both sides that mean less and less the more widely they are applied

8 RepliesA key difference between ISIS and the alt-right is that one is political and the other is militarized. I don't see people with MAGA hats running around beheading Mexicans. I'll give them that much credit, at least.
