The purple House could be the unified Houses of Wolves, Winter and Devils as hinted in the Ghost Fragment: Fallen 6 Grimoire card.

That unknown house and the House of Devils were active in the EDZ

I prefer revamped House of Kings, since purple is not only a color of the Reef, but of royalty, which is what a King has.

But if that was the case, why would Bungie give us very few appearances of the yellow House of Kings?

Because the houses were broken then, they are not anymore.

Not near the Cosmodrome". this is possibly referring to the EDZ, that could also explain the lack of House Kings' activity in the cosmodrone (because they dont mainly operate in the cosmodrone). but that's just what i think. also there is a fallen ketch above the map memento which is in the EDZ
