How bad and limiting is the crucible?

I did a study to check how limited the crucible was and what weapons were used the most often. If you couldn't tell from playing possibly the worst PvP experience around next to for honor and no mans sky then sit back and read. First: my experiment was to test which guns were used the most in the crucible. No matter what a website says, the best answer will always be physical evidence that you see in your face. For example ELO tracker doesn't truly test how good you are at the crucible since you can simply ELO farm. A.K.A going to 5 in trials and wiping, rinse and repeat. But I was testing to see what 3 weapons were used the most. Second: My test had to be done actually and involve multiple situations. So I went into every game mode and played 3 matches on 3 different types of maps. Close, medium and large/open. So I played all of the matches and went through everyone's characters that was in the lobby and tallied up which was the most used, at this rate though I would only be testing which was the most used to I also had to test for most effective so I looked at the primary and secondary of the top 3 people at the end of every game. Third: after tallying everything up my results weren't really that surprising. They probably won't even surprise you, I tallied everything up from all the matches, from all the game modes, and all the types of maps. This led to a very clear conclusion of 3 guns winning by absolute landslides. 1:Eyasluna 2:Palindrome 3:Icebreaker These results were pretty clear as they were both the most used and most effective. Most of the time the players at the bottom of the lobby were players using weapons besides these. Which honestly... is truly sad. Destiny has such a terrible PvP system that in order to do go you have to use these 3 guns. ( according to my hypothesis) which leads to the next question, how to fix it? How to fix it is really up for debate. I will throw out some suggestions of my own at the end and see what you guys think but for now please comment your own ideas. But clearly something inevitably needs to be done. This game is about to die clearly... Age Of Triumph is the last thing for this game and that really ends sooner then one would think, besides the grinding habits of your average destiny player, we often find ourselves hungry for more destiny which leads us into the crucible and forces us to do things like that make the game truly terrible... well not to mention the problems in PvE. But the absolute biggest problem with this game is... who cares if you have a terrible PvP system? A lot of games do (*cough for honor) but don't force us to do it. So hopefully destiny 2 will improve upon this Either by more content in PvE or a better PvP system. Anywho on to the tips... so these are just my personal ways that I would improve upon the crucible but comment below some changes you would make to even widen the subject. 1. BRING BACK SPECIAL AMMO! I believe most if not all destiny PvP players will agree to this, this problem led to even more problems in the first place which leads us to where we are now. 2. Take down hand cannon range How many times have you been 2-3 shot head shot or even body shot by a hand cannon at mid or even long range... just keep it out of places it doesn't belong and give other guns a chance like auto rifles for god sake, some of the only ones that compete are Doctrine of Passing, Suros regime and other with those archetypes ( slowest or fastest ROF ) 3. If you don't bring special ammo back, then give us a reason to want special ammo. Now a days it's just "-blam!- that crate I can regen ammo!" Or even "I don't even need special" well make us want special ammo more. So that way everyone doesn't pull an icebreaker 4. Make icebreaker spawn with 1 ammo in the chamber but make its regen timer take longer to regen ammo. This will avoid people camping to regen ammo while also having people not being afraid of having a bullet ready on spawn. 5. Make subclasses more balanced. I honestly don't know how you're gonna do it but you have to. For example, why is it that hunter incendiary grenades have a smaller blast radius and have a decreased burn time and damage then titans. Another example, is what's the point in putting super armor on if you can one shot body if you have low enough armor? ( actually try it, put your subclass armor as low as possible and then get body shot by an ex machina. Those are just some simple things that came to mind, comment below some of your ideas!       I'll have an aneurism if the Icebreaker is nerfed again due to PvP... Keep your disgusting nerfs away from my PvE (true destiny) experience... [spoiler]Crucibabies, crucibabies everywhere...[/spoiler] Edit: Grammar error.

        Instead of taking away more of the range from handcannons in general, take away rifled barrel from the middle tier with stat lines like esaluna and palindrome. The fast fire rate and low fire rate handcannons aren't used because the the medium is the best to use. Their high base stats is what makes them more viable then the other archetypes and other weapons as well. It's obvious. If you take away the rifled barrel perk for those medium archetypes with same the stats as a Lord High Fixer, Palindrome, Esa, etc. it'll make more weapon choices and different guns for peeps to use. Instead of having ice breaker do all that, just let special weapons spawn with 3 in the chamber, 3 for each guardian in any game mode and keep the special timer currently. Not to much of a special meta and more variety again. In its own sense just redewing subclass trees like how Viking funeral was redone, would be a better option than rebalancing. Because to be quite honest you make something stronger or make something better then the other, nerfs are headed your way.

        • The Crucible meta is the result of: 1. Bungie's lack of understanding of how the weapon system they created actually works. 2. Their lack of understanding of the necessity of balance, and how to actually achieve it. 3. Bungie's (Sandbox Team's) biases in promoting hand cannon use, and trying to back-engineer the game to replicate the feel of Halo's MP.. ...and since about the only thing this game has in common with Halo is that they are both Bungie games....the result is the current MESS. How you fix the game is simple....and really not open to debate. 1. Bungie needs to accept that they game they designed will never play the way that they want. 2. Give people their special ammo back, and buff the game's primaries back to Year 1 TTKs. ALL of the game's balancing problems over the last two years are the result of the game's primaries being underpowered....and Bungie trying to nerf everything else DOWN to that level of power. Despite the fact that the fast speed of player movement can't support a TTK that slow.
