Well it should be up to that religion to accept those views or not. It shouldn't be up to the federal government. Overwise that violates the first amendment. Last time I checked their not a lot of gay or Transgender people who are Islamic.

The school takes federal funding therefore must comply to non-discrimination laws.
-
Nice, you went from 0 to insulting Islam in record time. Completely missed the point of the article.
-
Did...did you just use something commonly used to bash Muslims to excuse Christians...?
-
How exactly did you check this?
-
O.. I don't know... Maybe the fact that sharia law states that being gay is a punishable offence and the punishment is death.
-
There's what, like 8 countries that actually use Shariah law for criminal matters, and that's not going to stop people being gay anyway. A billion muslims in the world means a lot of gay Muslims.
-
Yet, sharia law is an integral part of islam. Hell, muslims (not all) in america want it to be the law of the land here.
-
But in most majority Muslim countries it isn't the law of the land.
-
That doesn't mean they don't still follow what they can. You can take or leave this as you like, but I do have a source. An ex muslim that converted to Christianity that has told me more than enough, for me to believe that sharia law is present in every country that has a mosque. For instance, polygamy is not legal in the US (at least the actual marriage part) yet men are married to multiple women through Sharia Law, using these mosques. as well as the divorces. Not that you really need a the mosque to say "I divorce you!" 3 times. "triple-talaq." Let me catch you before the Hurr Durr sources comment. Like I said, it is a personal account and I won't give his name. So you can take it or leave it, I really don't care and you won't change my mind. This is meant for everyone!
-
Its a pretty big jump to go from that to executing gays though. We've got Jewish divorce courts, no one has an issue with that. The point I'm making is that a minority of Muslim countries actually have shariah law, fewer still actually execute gays regardless of what the law says. And even if they do, so what? homosexualities been illegal in most of the world for thousands of years and guess what, their were still gays.
-
Just to clarify, neither me nor rando said there were 0 gay muslims. Just that there wouldn't be many compared to total of muslims. I.E. more than likely <1%
-
I'd imagine its way over 1%. I don't know why the law would have any affect on peoples actual sexuality. Maybe they have to hide it or whatever, but it doesn't stop them being gay.
-
They execute gay people...
They execute gay people...
What does any of this have to do with the thread topic?

Someone said there is alot of gay muslims.
