Why does it matter? You knowing if it's real or not doesn't in any way change whether they want you to have their number or not.
Edit: Just seems like excessive effort or caring, to find out something which you'd find out anyway by sending a text. Seems like kids nowadays are way too anxious about things that should be chill.

You missed literally the whole point. If she corrects you, then it's the real number and she actually likes you. If she doesn't correct you, it's a fake number, and she doesn't like you.

What I'm saying is that you can find that out easily with a single text anyway, if the body language wasn't obvious enough already. So no prior confirmation is really needed.
