You did, you just need a small amount of common sense to realize you're killing the industry, you don't have to be a gaming expert.
You can all try to justify your pre-order, but you're buying something that you know very little about.
All pre-ordering does is encourage companies to produce unfinished games.
too many replies, cba to reply anymore, thanks for upvotes but never positive bois
Oh please don't be so dumb. Yes they can cut content and they most likely will regardless of preorders because it's more money for them. It's a common money maker. I don't blame them for it. I spent an insane amount of time enjoying vanilla destiny. I didn't care about cut content. I'm not an entitled cry baby.
You're not an entitled crybaby. You're a carpet. If vanilla was good enough content for you I'm sure you'd be happy with anything bungie puts out...the game could play a single cutscene and end and you'd still love it. Content drought and the like are on you types of players alone.
No game developer will promise you any amount of content. They market it (as any company does with their product) in a way that entices you. You aren't entitled to content. Bungie will do what they want with the title THEY have developed.
And not pre-ordering encourages companies to show thier game has more and more content. With D2 preorders already sold out without a single content or story trailer bungie could put a single story mission in and wouldn't have cheated anyone. Whays sad is players like yourself would still defend them if they did.
Don't like the idea of cut content? Don't buy it. But don't sit here whining about their business model. What they do is up to them. And I assure you, countless more people will preorder and buy than will boycott.
Exactly, players like yourself, ones who ruin the gaming industry, you're pathetic.
So your little "don't preorder" rubbish is just hot air.
That's player dependant, if players like yourself continue to let companies walk over them the boycott won't work, and eventually you'll be happy with getting a single story mission out of a game. Keep throwing your money at the screen though.

Spoken like a true entitled douche
-
Spoken like a thoroughly squashed carpet
-
So I'm a carpet for being content with thousands of hours of gameplay for $50? Hahahahaha
-
It could be 1 hour of gameplay. That's th idea. No one knows yet, which is why it's smarter to wait
-
How is it smarter to wait?bungie will not release a title with 1 hr because it would ruin them
-
Waiting to bungie means people aren't so enthusiastic. They then showcase content to the max to motivate more buyers. This results in the highest amount of content they can offer. Wheras buying before even seeing a single things shows bungie whatever they put out is satisfactory to the masses. Meaning they aren't afraid to chop some strikes or other stuff off the base and turn it into DLC. After all the base has already been paid for, now it's the DLC they need to hype up
-
Who cares? Bungie have already proven they'll do what they want regardless of what anyone does or thinks. I'm gonna enjoy my early beta access . I am more than happy with destiny 1. I play games for the enjoyment. Not so I can feel like the developers owe me anything. If D2 is a chopped up mess, I don't care. I know that bungie will deliver a decent game. I didn't care that D1 was cut up. I played and I paid. And I do not feel hard done by at all.
-
The problem being we know virtually nothing about the game.
-
Some people would say we knew nothing about destiny if you believe that they lied to us before launch. And yet, despite that, I've sunk more than enough hours into it to justify how much I've spent on it. So in my humble opinion, preordering may be a risk, but it's one I'm certain I won't regret. Even if D2 is as good as D1 and not better, it'll still be worth it.
-
No we don't but you can cancel most preorders at any point, unless it's psn. So what's the worry? They don't get a cent of my money till I actually pick the game up.
-
Digital can be cancelled??
-
Yes in some countries they legally have to offer returns even on digital

Destroy the industry? Not, not really. Shift it so the producers of content don't have to satisfy us before getting our money, thus drastically shifting the balance of power in their favor? That is true, and gives us a lot more lower quality offerings over time. It seems like that trend is reversing to a degree though, a lot of companies have seen that the initial burst of pre-order cash isn't the same thing as a sustainable revenue stream over the life of the IP. Shareholders are getting smarter the longer we go on.
-
Yeah see your point. But I still stand by my opinion though.

Edited by minigun800: 4/4/2017 4:05:25 PMWhen you're so stupid you neither: 1. Make an initial argument 2. Refute any rebuttals with anything more than "muted" I mean honestly, how lack luster your education must be. Now that I'm done attacking your intelligence, (not that there is much left to attack), I must say, I have no clue as to whom I support in this argument, because quite frankly, neither side ever brings out concrete evidence to further justify their cause, so it begs the question; is there even an argument at all? Or is this forum so desecrated with moronic simpletons that no one can reasonably nor peacefully have a valid argument? Say what you will; I won't see it until later today anyway. Mute me if you will; it only further proves my statement. Good day to you sir and quite frankly, I'm sorry I had to come down to "your" level of communication to engage in an argument with you.
