Horrible possibilities
So with all this talk and focus on the new book coming with the new update there is a really horrible possibility that may come with it. That is that the old raids may not even be getting updated. It's very possible that part of the book may just be that it has challenges for doing the old raids certain ways and the way to get any new gear will just be from completing your book. I really hope that this is not how it will be. That would be a huge cop out by bungie and would be a massive disappointment. Let's just hope that this is just a horrible nightmare of a theory floating around and that is all. I could honestly care less about a new book to complete. New challenges is not new content. I hope for once bungie surpasses our expectations but man, it's hard to think that at this point.

The horrible possibility is that there's more "repeat this 10 times but it can only be done once per week" type of bullshit that slows you down and artificially inflates your game time.

5 RepliesI'd prefer they don't update them except for the light level, and that's it! Anymore, and they're likely to screw it up. I'm already dreading that they'll take elemental damage off of the raid primaries, in which case, I won't bother.

I figured that is exactly how it would work. I would be very shocked to find out that they retooled the raids at all. I think that they are just going to try and give us a reason to go back and do the old stuff, without actually changing the old stuff. Except I think they will make it so we can infuse the weapons and gear up to current light. That is all just a guess though. I have no idea what they actually have planned.

In a perfect world VoG will have a new Difficulty setting one that exceeds our light level. And on completion unlocks a new Difficulty on Corta's End and so on. I know this seems linear go to point A then go to point B. but it would feel more like a progression than a simple checklist that we have to finish. Kinda like a New Game Plus where yea we are redoing old content but at higher difficulty level and maybe some new modifiers. But at this point I just want Bungie to exceed expectations with this new event, which realistically is rather low.

I'm guessing it would be similar to how the raid sections of the book are now. Praetorians killed, chests opened, maybe even Gorgons killed. Atheon completions, boss completions, that kinda thing.

8 RepliesWhen will you guys understand that this isn't new content. They are using the existing content to give players who still play Destiny something interesting to do. Much to some of your disappointment, we aren't traveling to to Uranus or any other new location in the universe. This event is the last one before this game takes it final resting place in the hall of Guardians. Just play it, or not. That's it.

4 RepliesI hate to promote this type of thing as it is just speculation, but by some of the data mined stuff it doesn't look good. As in you are going to have to get special consumables to upgrade raid gear. And there are different ones for each raid and for each type of gear weapons/armor, legendary/exotic. And the Vex Mythoclast is quest/grind originated.

Or the raids come back back in rotation only, week to week. We know they are doing nightfall raids. All raids in a rotation with bumped light levels.
