Edited by SeaWolv: 3/3/2017 1:30:26 PMFor me (month 1 player) I like VOG the most. Not just because it was my first raid but because of how unique it is compared to the others. After VOG comes Crota's End, Kings Fall, Wrath of the Machine and finally Skolas. CE and KF are close but I put CE ahead because the beginning of KF is ridiculously easy.

VOG and kings fall are by far the best. Croata is a prolonged strike and WotM is pure garbage.
-
None 👍🏻

I loved the Vog just because it wasn't a stale boss after a boss, but rather it had the wonderful transition areas which made it feel like a real journey and not just a grind fest of bosses.
-
I'd say in terms of my favorite it would go: WoTM, KF, VoG, CE. In terms of which one is the best: WoTM, VoG, CE, KF. Just personal preference :)

3 RepliesI have a soft spot for the really long strike "Crota's End".

3 RepliesKF-WOTM-VOG-POE-CE Whoever thinks that VOG is better than WoTM and KF has some nice nostalgia lenses on
-
Wrath is a good balance of challenge and fun. I wouldn't change a thing about it.

12 RepliesEdited by DadKev: 2/27/2017 9:57:27 PMCrota's End. No stupid jumping requirements which is why I always skipped from Golgoroth to Oryx on Kings Fall and also why I've never finished WotM.

15 RepliesCrota's End. It fixed everything I didn't like about VOG.
-
Wrath.

3 Repliesimao Skolas technicallyisn't a raid. Back in year one It felt like one though...

VOG set the standard to raids in destiny

Soklas isn't a raid, shows by the 1% of people who voted for it. Unfortunately the April update will probably be siva Soklas.

I never did the raids back in Y1. Didn't attempt any until TTK (solo player problems) So my first experience with raids was King's Fall. The mechanics seemed contrived, though I appreciated how most were rooted in the lore. I enjoyed the platforming and dreaded being the noob that would be responsible for a wipe. As a warlock, I felt that none of my subclasses really helped out. I was just another source of DPS (a role a hunter or Titan could fill and then some) Vault of Glass was fun, but mostly because I was basically shepherded by friends who were veterans. I didn't feel the omnipresent pressure to not -blam!- up. It was cool to explore more of the Vex underworld. I liked that it wasn't as driven by mechanics as King's Fall (i.e. Stand here, wait, run there, wait, shoot that, run back, wait, rinse and repeat) We melted Atheon with Sleeper Simulant, haha. Crota's End was a lot of fun and made it possible for a single person to be the hero by pulling a clutch move at the end. It's a shame that the Dark Below's whole story and lore is a hot mess. Also, that goddamn Crux never drops! Wrath of the Machine is fun with the right people, but most of my friends have gotten frustrated with Destiny and moved on to other games. None of the encounters are difficult to get down. I enjoy that I provide more utility as a warlock on this raid than any other (Mainly clearing ads with Stormtrance) Lore-wise/story-wise...this whole raid is poorly integrated.

2 RepliesIf Skolas counted as a raid it would be listed in the grimoire as one, but it's not.

1 ReplyVog> WOTM>Skolas>Crota>kings fall
kings fall was garbage. It was a huge glitchy pile of sh*t with the rest of that sorry ass DLC. Rise of iron and wrath of the machine was a step in the right direction and was a breath of fresh air.
VOG>KF>Crota>Skolas>Wrath

skolas was probably the least fun
-
VoG, simply because I've spent the most time in their and I made more memories in there.
-
Crotas end because i am and always be pro swordbearer
-
Had the most fun in crotas end. Best raid VOG prob or WotM. Stupidly insane loot drops in WotM ruined it though.

To me, one aspect of a good raid is the story or reason for the raid. Or put another way, "why do I need to kill the final boss?" Skolas: I'm killing a guy who is in a prison. Ummmm is this the Queen's version of capital punishment? Not seeing how this is such a big bad. Aksis: So again I'm killing a guy who thinks nanotechnology makes him a god. Still it's earth based tech so again not feeling the threat is that high compared to next three. Crota: This is a "god" who killed thousands of guardians. He is holding the moon as his base. I killed his body and need to kill his soul to free the moon for good. Ok. That sounds necessary and deadly. Atheon: A machine "god" that is trying to find ways to beat guardians outside the vault and can "erase" or "lose" you in time. This race has taken over mercury and is working on Venus and Mars. Stop Atheon and you slow the Vex down. Ok. This sounds important and necessary. Maybe save the city and the solar system necessary. Oryx: A pissed off "god" that wants revenge for killing his son so he wants to destroy the earth and all guardians with his dreadnaught (supposedly over a thousand miles long) or enslave everyone by making them "taken." Ok. We got revenge and world domination. Earth and solar system at stake. Definite treat and not just theoretical like some aspects of VoG. Ok. A BIG BAD!
