I'm still trying to figure out how Bungie came up with weapon balance. A hand canon with half the rate of fire , twice the impact but with same range as a scout rifle.
Clearly no one there has ever actually shot a real firearm let alone a big bore hand cannon.

Absolutely! Anyone with any real weapon experience would be able to graduate these weapon systems. They just don't seem to have a clue what different weapons are designed for. Sure it's sci-fi - but come on - there's no point to having the variety of weapon systems if you're just going to undermine the reason the weapon type exists in the first place.
