I find it funny and actually a little unbelievable that people truly think that weapons like the Clever Dragon, The Last Word, and even the NLB in their current states are actually overpowered.
Clearly they weren't here for this and/or have never heard of or seen it before.

5 RepliesI can agree with most of them, but who the hell thinks that NLB is OP? I haven't seen that once, but if you think NLB is OP.... I have no words. Like a great man once said " the day that the community starts saying NLB is OP is the day either this game needs to die or this community is a bunch of retards"

7 RepliesI had a friend say my bubble, supressors, and chaperone were overpowered..... I just dont know anymore.

49 RepliesThat's not the point. That was then, and this is now. There's no more Vex. No more Pocket Infinity. No more Felwinter's Lie. There is NONE of that anymore. That meta is over. I'm tired of people always crying "Well they weren't here for this!", because who the -blam!- really cares? What matters is now. Matador 64, at this time, is currently experiencing Felwinter's Lie syndrome. It's literally the only viable PVP shotgun in the entire -blam!-ing game. Grasp and Clever Dragon? God rolls on those make them "insert to win" weapons. It doesn't matter that Vex was OP 2 1/2 years ago. Because right now, Grasp and Clever dominate so much that they're on banned lists for official tournaments. The Last Word as overpowered in the past. It's been brought down, and it ended up being bad. Until other things were nerfed. Now, it's back to being extremely good. Ghost bullets? What even are those? Every. Single. Time. I see someone use TLW, they end up melting me. The ONLY reason people don't use TLW anymore is because they're afraid of ghost bullets, but it doesn't matter when you put out a lot of rounds in a couple seconds. NLB. It isn't affected by the sniper nerf. It's only cons are the bolt action(easily fixed) and scope sway(easily adjusted and aim assisted). The pros far outweigh the cons of the NLB. Primary sniper. Never have to run for special ammo. Body shot and finish with shotgun/side arm at range. OHK primary on headshots. There is always going to be a meta. There will always be OP weapons. Why? Because 90% of Bungie is now 343i. What Bungie is now is only a name. It's not the same people who worked on Halo. That's why the PVP and story has been shit.

5 RepliesEdited by Dess1031: 1/12/2017 11:25:26 PMThey arent OP at all. Everything else has just been nerfed into the ground.

Edited by Kone19ps: 1/13/2017 1:15:38 AMTerminology is a big issue here. Unbalanced implies degrees. OP implies significantly unbalanced. People call imbalance like clever dragon in my opinion OP which isn't quite right. But they are a problem. Low impact pulses have no downside. But it all depends on your ideal ttk. 0.7 is as low as I'll go. Right now most max out at 0.8. Low impact handcannons will do 0.73 with their innaccuracy as a trade.

Compared to everything else, Clever dragons and grasps of baloks dominate the crucible because they are better than all competition. You are completely right in saying that everyone forgot about the original last word and vex mythoclast. I still get the shivers when I hear a vex go off, and that was only powerful for a couple weeks.
-
2 RepliesIt's not the fact that they are overpowered it's just most of the other guns can't compete with them because the rest are weak
-
1 ReplyGlad to see you here! Bump.

1 ReplyI was around for that but, it's irrelevant. Year 1 had the most broken weapons and, pvp balance was non existent. In its current state, the clever dragon with high caliber rounds can't be beat by much. To destiny players it's op, and with good reasoning. My only issue with it is that the mida got so much hate for having high caliber. Bungie puts high caliber rounds on a fast firing pulse with barely any damage falloff and, people seem to be accepting of it for the most part.
-
3 RepliesI remember seeing that video for the first time. I started laughing hysterically...... OG Vex Mythoclast was basically letting someone run around with Thunderlord as their primary.
-
2 RepliesYou're forgetting that it's all relative. You can't compare what was overpowered in year one and year three.
-
It's all relative my friend. At this moment, they are OP.
-
When life in destiny was actually fun for everyone. Well, I guess not everyone ;).
-
I had so much fun melting ppl with the Vex

7 RepliesEdited by TotalDramaGamer: 1/11/2017 7:00:21 PMYou have to also remember that a lot of people simply don't like being killed a certain way, as asinine as that sounds. They'll b*tch if you use something just for the sake of being killed by that something. Even if it's the worst shotgun in the game. They'll call shotguns 'cheap'. That's why everyone has PTSD over Thorn. People simply didn't like getting killed that way. No care into actually being OP. It just really annoyed people. Because it wasn't a 'normal way to die' they hated it. Ugh. That being said, the two shot walk away was OP. But after that the other nerfs weren't necessary. -- You can see it so clearly. Literally some people want Thorn buried under so much rubble that it's never used again. JUST because it's Thorn. And that's it. They hate Thorn. Not that it was OP. Just that it's Thorn. Until that mentality goes away, welcome to a sh*tfest of nerf herders.

1 ReplyEdited by blade329: 1/11/2017 6:59:08 PMIt's nonsense. These so-called "good players" just don't like the masses having access to a good weapon. If they nerf the Clever Dragon, another gun will take it's place. Then they will be complaining about that. Next on the docket, for the serial whiners, will be to nerf good players. Reduce the agility of high elo players or some such nonsense.
-
2 RepliesIn every meta, there's a gun and an ability that players want brought down. Shoulder Charge was the last victim of this cull (can't remember the weapon, feel free to inform me). Up next on the chopping block, Juggernaut and Matador. Shotties will get nerfed again (10th nerf, is it?), Juggernaut will be altered and/or rendered useless in competitive play, all because players haven't figured out that different subclasses compliment different playstyles.
Funnily enough, during the SC meta, some of us warned the community that the meta would shift to Jugg. Were we heeded? Nope. Do I care? Nope.
2 RepliesOverpowered or overused? I mean, I get killed by a matador because everyone is using it. In year 2 I got killed by a 1k stare and a conspiracy theory all the time. People just use the best thing available to them but forget that those weapons have only a small margin to the next best option.
-
Clever dragon is only op because of the high cal rounds. But the others? Just iver used.
-
6 RepliesNLB isn't OP, it takes time getting use to it and mastering it. Fun to mess around with :)
-
4 RepliesYe I was around for that and more and TLW CD NLB are quite OP atm because everything else has got nerfed to death when a PR can out shoot a MG or a scout from across the map there is obviously somthing wrong with it when it out shoots every primary in the game inside of their intented range. As for NL its a primary sniper that you don't have to worry about collecting ammo for because you spawn with it only SR in game with no flinch and fast to aim and has fastest ttk or any primary longest range that sounds a bit OP to me.TLW na not so much
-
I hope they buff primaries as tlw and almost every exotic sucks
-
14 RepliesOverpowered means "better than its contemporaries." If X, Y, and Z are all balanced, and Y and Z get the nerf bat, X is now overpowered. Now, you'd probably be stupid to nerf X to get balance in this case, but you get the idea.
-
Personally would think destiny more fun if they took it in the direction of buffing stuff to make them useful instead of the opposite direction they took. Remember guys personal preference here. But yeah I would be happier with Much faster Time to kill
-
They wouldnt be considered op at all if bungie didnt nerf the hella kella out of anything remotely useful all the blaming time
-
1 ReplyNLB, Last Word, and Clever Dragon all just SEEM over powered because they are the only primary-slot weapon that can effectively be used in this meta to counter those who never tap the Y/Triangle button the whole game
