Hi,
anyone playing ToO can split its experience in 3 tiers:
0-4 wins: beside the unlucky match, you get matched quite fairly to average players.. (1400-1500 ELO max)
5-6 wins: you get matched with 1700-1900 teams.. matches start to become more sweatier..
7-9+ wins: you EXCLUSIVELY get matched against 1900+ ELO teams
with the shrink of the userbase (less mixed pve/pvp players and more try harder) the 7+ win became defacto a barrage to any average teams. (1200-1500 ELO) .
Bungie , could you please review the 7+ win matchmaking range ? we shouldn't be matched with
2000+ players doing carry all the week end or just pub stomping for the fun of it given the smaller user base.
you have several solutions to this:
- introduce more SBMM past 7 wins.
- put characters who achieved flawless in a separate matchmaking pool
- remove the 7-9+ bracket altogether and make it 0-4 and 5-9+
people are getting tired of this try hard mode and that's all what is left to do in destiny right now..
edit: according to guardian.gg there is 40000 flawless account across both PS4 et xbox each week.
currently someone with ELO 1700 is rank 23,079 in ToO playlist on PS4 alone.
this mean that the average ELO of team going flawless is likely in the 1800+..
edit2: so 70% agree that ToO MatchMaking s broken and the only who doesn't are certainly the top30% or people who don't even play the mode. fair enough i would say.. @Deej @Lars Bakken and Derek Carroll we know nothing will change for destiny 1 but take this into account for destiny 2. You can't keep something fair when the base assomption are different because of the players defects which in this case is mainly due to the matchmaking alone.

Edited by puppyk1sses: 1/9/2017 11:45:12 PMI got the gear I needed this year and hung it up. Not worth that much stress and sweaty palms for just a few pieces of glamor gear. Luckily I got the scout and pulse adept on my first 2 flawless runs :)

Another week, another cry baby bitching about trials bc they can't go flawless. It won't get changed. So keep practicing and maybe one day you can be as good as those 2000+ Elo guys and win against them.

1 ReplyEdited by Raider TCK: 1/9/2017 11:16:38 PMI play in very high Elo average teams. I am 1700-1800ish myself (don't really care TBH). And I agree with you in principle. I don't think your ideas are 100% on the mark yet, but trials needs a change. It's loosing players faster than trump is breaking campaign promises. And you shouldn't complain about 2,000 Elo players carrying people. Playing a 2,000 Elo stacked is incredibly difficult. I went into trials for a few cards this week with a stacked team and we played the same poor team back to back. http://imgur.com/tHfi4VZ

How to fix Trials; 1. Alternate spawns! 2. How bout adding Skirmish for a week. Not everyone plays as well in different game modes. Skirmish is still 3v3 (no relic bs though). 3. The matchmaking is broken, not talking about SBMM + Card MM. I mean the fact I can face the same team back to back three times in a row. Either open bracket it for sure or lock it down. 4. What's the point of ELO? I have a decent K/D and my ELO is close to 1500. ....?

What's the problem? You can get the armour piece (5 wins) quite easily, and the weapon (7 wins) also without too much trouble. All the bounties require nothing but grinding - and you can get a bunch of trials gear from the previous year from them (including the beautiful flawless Pariah sets). Going from 7 to 9 gets you literally nothing, unless you are talking about flawless, which as Bungie have made abundantly clear multiple times, is not intended to be easy or in any way achieveable for 'average players'
-
ELO is based on win percentage and games played for the most part. So the people playing it a lot get a higher stat, I don't think it should be changed. Card wins and connection works well, especially with haw few players are still playing. I would love to see tiers in Destiny 2 if it had dedicated servers for more than just the tower. But not in a 2 1/2 year old game that's pier to pier connection
-
There isn't a reason to play outside of making money. Weapons are shit and the armor is ugly.

2 RepliesFor $10 through paypal I will get you a guaranteed flawless run, add deveous_devil for more info

Edited by NYDIBS: 1/9/2017 10:54:35 PM2000+ elo teams are rare I run into them, but not every card. Most of the times my team just loses to bad teams bc they don't know how to adapt

Misleading title likely resulted in wrong voting.

7 RepliesIt's not ment to be fair it's a damn tournament, all you instant gratification morons refuse to work hard at anything. it's a damn tournament there are no participation medals, you don't get anything for showing up that's the f****** game and that's real life get over it.
-
4 RepliesIts not for the majority of the userbase.
-
10 RepliesIt's a competitive gamemode. Deal with it. In anything competitive, it is absolutely intended that the best players win and the worst players lose.
-
18 RepliesMust be Monday...... all the babies that didn't go flawless or even get 7 wins are out and about, doing their Monday ritual of crying... Get gud chump

16 RepliesEdited by Symbology: 1/9/2017 4:58:09 PMSo let me get his straight...... Year one, you ALL wanted card based trials because for whatever reason, something wasn't fair to some snowflake and they didn't like getting crushed randomly. And NOW you all want it changed again because you all still can't get flawless and don't like being crushed midway/ end of your card. Maybe you all should have left well enough alone. But seriously, let's face it, the people complaining 99% of the time are the ones with .15 KD that couldn't go flawless if the other team quit out every match. Edit: also, the lighthouse isn't for everyone. Improve your game or find something else to play.
-
1 ReplyIt is absolutely intended that average players should not make it to the lighthouse, and then come on the forums and enter their individual solutions on how trials should be so they can make it to the lighthouse.
-
No one of consequence will listen to you. Just play Trials as is or participate in other parts of the game, or alternatively go play another game. I repeat no one of consequence is listening. The only power you have is your wallet.
-
Trials is fair the way that it is. Having it based on wins is an excellent thing. Only fix is there needs to be more attention paid to connection. Skill based in trials won't solve anything.
-
6 RepliesMatch people who have gone flawless with their same kind and people who haven't with people who haven't More fair for everyone. Other than the trials sweaties
-
I stopped playing trials because I'm crap at trials 😂😁
-
Or maybe bungie can look at the past and present of their games and others, and implement a -blam!-ing ranked playlist so that people get matched via trueskill and not the whims of Scarlett Johansson's queefs.
-
I play around one card a week and I still have an 1800. Honestly trials elo is meaningless. The only elo that is even slightly a representation of skill is rumble elo.
-
11 RepliesWhy the hell do people think elo DIRECTLY correlates with skill? I smack streamers with 1900+ elo because they have a 1.4 and rely on their 2.0+ carry partner. Elo doesn't mean shit. I'm average in terms of elo, about 1700, but that doesn't mean I always lose to people with more elo than me. That's just stupid.
-
I stopped playing trials because the set-up is unfair to mediocre players like myself.
-
I'm average and go flawless against 2000+ elos. Elo doesn't really mean anything lol
-
Trials is just overrated
