Hi,
anyone playing ToO can split its experience in 3 tiers:
0-4 wins: beside the unlucky match, you get matched quite fairly to average players.. (1400-1500 ELO max)
5-6 wins: you get matched with 1700-1900 teams.. matches start to become more sweatier..
7-9+ wins: you EXCLUSIVELY get matched against 1900+ ELO teams
with the shrink of the userbase (less mixed pve/pvp players and more try harder) the 7+ win became defacto a barrage to any average teams. (1200-1500 ELO) .
Bungie , could you please review the 7+ win matchmaking range ? we shouldn't be matched with
2000+ players doing carry all the week end or just pub stomping for the fun of it given the smaller user base.
you have several solutions to this:
- introduce more SBMM past 7 wins.
- put characters who achieved flawless in a separate matchmaking pool
- remove the 7-9+ bracket altogether and make it 0-4 and 5-9+
people are getting tired of this try hard mode and that's all what is left to do in destiny right now..
edit: according to guardian.gg there is 40000 flawless account across both PS4 et xbox each week.
currently someone with ELO 1700 is rank 23,079 in ToO playlist on PS4 alone.
this mean that the average ELO of team going flawless is likely in the 1800+..
edit2: so 70% agree that ToO MatchMaking s broken and the only who doesn't are certainly the top30% or people who don't even play the mode. fair enough i would say.. @Deej @Lars Bakken and Derek Carroll we know nothing will change for destiny 1 but take this into account for destiny 2. You can't keep something fair when the base assomption are different because of the players defects which in this case is mainly due to the matchmaking alone.

23 RepliesEasy fix: once you go flawless that week all your characters and your fire team is out into a separate pool. Trials get easier as the weekend goes on, with Monday being a walk in the park

1 ReplyI just think it's odd streamers never match each other. I bounce from streamer to streamer and I've never seen them play any real competition. Like I joined in and it was Luminosity and they absolutely smoked the other team and I was like must be early on and then after the match their carry got Lighthouse. I don't think there's a big conspiracy for streamers or anything obviously just think it's super odd.

I used to run it for the gold tier bounties, but since they appear to only grant year two trials gear - I stopped bothering. I simply am not good enough to compete with the kind of highly skilled players who run this multiple times per week. This mode is a high skill based activity (bungie dev has confirmed that this game type is not for everyone) - which I expect eventually (due to a diminishing playerbase) will become entirely exclusive to trials carriers & youtubers. My advice is move on and find another title to play until Destiny 2 is released - the rewards in trials just aren't worth the effort in my humble opinion. On a separate subject - I do think Bungie need to be a little more transparent about their plans for the next title - at least we had a roadmap of sorts in year one, with regular substantial content drops. I am starting to feel that they have run out of ways to refresh the current content in a meaningful way.. the sunrise bounty is a great example of this, offer an old fan favourite gun & make it a very rare drop chance - just to ensure we continue to log in each week and play the title. Come on Bungie we know you are capable of so much better! Give us some real info about the future of this game & you will find the forums will be full of excitement (rather than the usual dull posts about weapon balance & subjects like this one (no offence!)

This is business now for streamers and YouTubers

Nope, I don't play Trials because I don't belong there. "I don't deserve the Lighthouse is what the elitist say." They are right so I don't play. Still need to finish my book though...

1 ReplyI would like to see everybody that isn't a trials tryhard skip trials for an entire weekend and make the tryhards fight each other all weekend, see how much fun they have then lol
-
3 RepliesThis. This is a man that cant go flawless yet blames it on the matchmaking. This. This is pathetic.

Edited by PushedBean764: 1/10/2017 10:51:12 PMI stopped playing pvp regularly because the current meta is absolute garbage. So I'm waiting for the next balance patch, and hoping for the removal of HCR from all High RoF primaries (excluding hand cannons), and the removal of Full Auto from all High Impact Shotguns. Also I bought Pokemon Sun and Final Fantasy XV, so I'm playing those.

Not supposed to be for the majority It loses its purpose then

I don't play it because I suck at it and I don't enjoy it at all. I won't get any better either because I simply cannot motivate myself to play elimination.
-
As someone who has only gone twice, it's not a participation trophy. It's based off skill and luck of who you go against
-
It's not the game type it's you
-
2 RepliesTrials is easy lol :3

1 ReplyAnother boring post about how life isn't fair.

Strange. The longer the win streak in a mode where you're matched on wins, the better teams you play. Huh. Never would have guessed.
-
Trials? More like buy-ls!
just -blam!- me up senpai
-
You cant just give up. You gotta keep trying. Dont be a pussy
-
I keep playing even with the teams and bad matchmaking
-
If you can't go flawless, then I think you have to try and improve as a player. It's not bungies fault you suck at trials
-
I like the challenge

But you didn't, you purposely phrased the topic one way and voting another. Therefore your poll is less then worthless, make a regular poll next time and you'll see most of this community does not agree with you wanting lighthouse loot just for participating. You skewered your own poll, gg.

Edited by Tryal: 1/10/2017 7:11:22 PMpubstomping? rly? cmon i hate stacked teams theres no fun in running one Helping with Carries is a lot more fun and beneficial
From the perspective of a former top 200 player for trials elo, i think trials should go back to the old matchmaking
-
People are still complaining about this? Stop begging for these kind of changes in trials, just get -blam!-ing good. I didn't play trials for a almost two months, and when I came back last Friday, I went flawless easily. Seriously, most people in trials is terrible. I stop playing trials for almost two months and still top 1000, that's just sad. The solution is not to beg for changes, just get good.

The lighthouse is not intended for the average players. It has been explicitly stated by the bungie team that the average person should not be going to the lighthouse. Stop complaining, trials is meant for people who are better than average. As for the carries, there is few ways to stop it. Paid carries are terrible, but for the average person who cant carry themselves, go for a raffle. If you can hold your own, get some friends that are at least a little over average to help you out.

More like 70% who cant go flawless an look for an easier option and the other 30% doesnt give a sh*t
