Hi,
anyone playing ToO can split its experience in 3 tiers:
0-4 wins: beside the unlucky match, you get matched quite fairly to average players.. (1400-1500 ELO max)
5-6 wins: you get matched with 1700-1900 teams.. matches start to become more sweatier..
7-9+ wins: you EXCLUSIVELY get matched against 1900+ ELO teams
with the shrink of the userbase (less mixed pve/pvp players and more try harder) the 7+ win became defacto a barrage to any average teams. (1200-1500 ELO) .
Bungie , could you please review the 7+ win matchmaking range ? we shouldn't be matched with
2000+ players doing carry all the week end or just pub stomping for the fun of it given the smaller user base.
you have several solutions to this:
- introduce more SBMM past 7 wins.
- put characters who achieved flawless in a separate matchmaking pool
- remove the 7-9+ bracket altogether and make it 0-4 and 5-9+
people are getting tired of this try hard mode and that's all what is left to do in destiny right now..
edit: according to guardian.gg there is 40000 flawless account across both PS4 et xbox each week.
currently someone with ELO 1700 is rank 23,079 in ToO playlist on PS4 alone.
this mean that the average ELO of team going flawless is likely in the 1800+..
edit2: so 70% agree that ToO MatchMaking s broken and the only who doesn't are certainly the top30% or people who don't even play the mode. fair enough i would say.. @Deej @Lars Bakken and Derek Carroll we know nothing will change for destiny 1 but take this into account for destiny 2. You can't keep something fair when the base assomption are different because of the players defects which in this case is mainly due to the matchmaking alone.

Can there be a 3rd option? Like "Trials should be CBMM, I have no issue with 2000 elo players." I think match making needs to change for Trials. Right now,it seems like the card based match making just punishes everyone. I have issues with Trials itself as well aside from match making, but I think the match making issue is a little more important at this moment. But I do think something needs to be done about revives. Right now, it almost feels like dying first will give you an advantage, especially if you have fast res.

2 RepliesYour matched on wins. That's how me and my buddy's with like 800 elo matched up against nkuch and another streamer om our first game, of our first card.
-
1 ReplyFunny how only a small percentage of people can succeed in the best part of Destiny PvP. And everyone will say "oh practice more" well I don't have a team. And don't say lfg because only people with 2 kd can join groups. Trials is one of the biggest failures in destiny

Stopped playing Trials because of the stupid RNG loots system. Went flawless 12 times this year and between the 5 wins bounty and the chest at the lighthouse, got the -blam!-ing helmet 9 times in a row.
-
I normally finish a weekend between 1600/1700 depending whether I play with my bad friends or not. I don't often struggle to get my flawless. I've been flawless with 2 guys with 1500 last weekend. If you have 1400/1500 your good enough to get flawless, you saying 1700/1800 only is exaggerated.
-
I don't play often but when I do I just play for the bounties. I'm no good at 3s so flawless feels out of reach for me.
-
1 ReplyI love playing trials because you match streamers and then I tbag them and they get mad
-
placebo placebo placebo....here is a hint community don't look at their stats play smart and you can beat those better teams sometimes
-
4 RepliesTrials has run its course. It has been unchanged for 3 years. Except for what 2 weekends? I use to have to go flawless so I could have the emblems. I just don't care anymore. Aside from helmets the armor looks the same. Adding a wispy thing does nothing. After 3 years.... Let the guys who want the grimoire have it. Just let trials die already.
-
remove it from the game and then the rise of iron book as it has no part of the rise of iron story. but bungie again failing to listen to the there real customer.
-
35 RepliesTrials isn't supposed to be fair. Trials is also cancer and should never have been added to the game. All it did was add more reasons for PvP-obsessed people to complain and cause problems like DDoSing and nerfs.
-
I have a 1.2 Kd over all in trials I play with friends that aren't amazing at pvp but my team that had a 1.2 a .8 and a .5 made it to 8 wins last week
only to run into the managator 😐😂😔😭🌝
I don't think trials should be easy.
-
I've gone flawless a few times and my team is usually around 1400-1500 elo. We almost never have issues getting to 7 wins. We do end a lot of cards 7-1 or 8-1 and it has gotten harder, but it isn't impossible for a team that works together to make it to the light house. I think the lighthouse or bust mentality makes a lot of people hate trials. But when you play to have fun, it really is much more enjoyable.
-
stopped focusing on trials due to lack of y3 weapon in loot pool for bounties me get to 7 wins for a chance at blind perdition? ha yea right
-
The world doesn't let everybody succeed in everything. Trials from the beginning is a "test" to see if you are good. It is a game type that actually rewards skill (although there are exceptions) and it won't/shouldn't change. Don't hurt the good players just because you aren't.
-
6 RepliesThe problem is essentially you want trials to be just another activity in destiny, where anyone can complete it. That's not what trials is, if trials were to cater to everyone (casuals and bad kids) the game would have died. It's the last real challenge left in destiny and the motivation to go flawless is what keeps people coming back.
-
2 RepliesChanging it now would be unfair to all of the people who worked to get to the lighthouse. That being said, I hope trials is removed in D2 and replaced by a ranked mode that offers exclusive rewards to the truly top tier teams. "Carries" to the highest tier of rewards should be virtually impossible. The only thing about trials that really makes me salty is all the people who get carried and have all the adept trials gear. I won't see the top rewards in a true competitive mode, but at least players worse than me won't either.
-
4 RepliesEdited by Mystic Knight: 1/10/2017 6:51:25 PMClicking on the twitch streams you have more and more streamers talking about trials being harder so apparently alot of the casuals are fed up with it and skipping trials. The rewards are crap so for me the try hards can have it. Imo if they can't pub stomp they'll quit playing it too because they really don't want competition
-
Matchmaking is fine, hate all you want. Y'all have had 3 years to get better at pvp and trials. If you're still whining about losing to players then I'm sorry but it isn't matchmaking...
-
1 Replystop playing. If all the average players would stop it would be a sweat fest for 9 straight matches. It would become difficult for even the top players to go flawless and the carries would become too difficult to do. it's a game mode that only works if there are average Joe's to stomp along the way. If the streamers get too frustrated to continue, Bungie might finally come up with a better way.
-
If you are unable to beat 1 or 2 good players helping a below average player then you don't deserve to go flawless. The lighthouse isn't something was meant for the majority, it is something that you have to work as a team for and if that's not enough, find a better team or look to get carried as you are basically failing to win a 2v3.
-
I just stopped because it's too much work when it's against people who don't know what primarys are, like what's the point if the nlb can't shoot trough the juggernaut, the game is broken and not worth it to take my IME to keep going flawless
-
I never played it simply because I hate competitive stuff like that.
-
23 RepliesEasy fix: once you go flawless that week all your characters and your fire team is out into a separate pool. Trials get easier as the weekend goes on, with Monday being a walk in the park
