Yea since i kind of like and hate this name
-
1 ReplyNope. I'm happy with mine. I don't ever intend to change it
-
1 ReplyThey have already stated in various interviews that they will not change this. They do not allow changes so they can more easily track profiles and for other reasons.
-
8 RepliesYou cant change your PSN name? Those poor individuals who got a Playstation when they were 12. R.I.P. in peace
-
I want to change tour name.
-
4 Repliesno the mincraft trolls would greef my buildings and change there name
^what the main reason for not letting us change our name is
-
I like mine where it is actually
-
They should like just change it once and then having to pay for it, or changing once every three years or something

29 RepliesToo bad Sony is anti-consumer.

5 RepliesUnfortunately this will never happen due to the way they have their system set up. I'd pay for it as I picked my name back when I wanted to try a new handle different from my others & now I really don't like it (No, it's not something stupid regarding drugs/alcohol/etc). I have too many games associated with this account now since it's been open since PSN was conceived and I gameshare with a library that is 99% digital so simply creating a new PSN is 150% out of the question.

4 RepliesEdited by Psychic Donuts: 1/8/2017 5:24:01 AMNo matter how much you bug Sony, it won't change. There are 3 main ways that accounts get managed and they can be seen in Xbox Live, Steam, and PSN. Xbox Live manages their accounts through your Microsoft account (email). That means that your Gamertag can get changed but it will always be linked to said Email. Xbox makes you pay to change your Gamertag and have only one of each to prevent mass changing and disorder. Steam manages their accounts through a player ID which is a number. Steam lets you change the name attached to your number infinitely and have multiple of each name because the player ID never changes. Steam doesn't limit name changes or amounts of a certain name. PSN manages their accounts through your name (Gamertag). You can connect an email to your account but it is not for management (to a point). If PSN were to make it so you can change your name they would need to completely change their whole system and figure out what to do with people who have no email account. Maybe they could assign an ID to each player but even that would be a huge load on the servers.

Here's a story: My buddy's tag was ClitCommanda01. At one point I guess we all got reported for griefing. Nothing really came of that except for the fact that they made him change his name. It actually took some work; many e mails, calls to support. Finally Sony came through and he was allowed to change his name during one of the support calls. Certain games were a wipe. GTA Online for example. Destiny stuff was all still there. Odd. Also, when I try and send messages over PSN, they bounce to ClitCommanda01. We've confirmed he doesn't see those. So maybe it's not due to Sony being unwilling. They might just be dumb.

Xbox Masterrace
-
Eh it'd be nice to have the option but I don't think I'd take advantage of it
-
No quit being a little bitch
-
Yeah that'd be pretty sweet. I still find it strange that to this day, we cannot change it at all
-
So many bitter jealous gamers 😂 they both have there advantages. Some of you guys can only afford 1 console and start ranting about it.
-
Nah im good thanks The only thing i could think to change is change the first letter into a Capital
-
It's funny even in 2017 you can't change your Gt on ps...Good thing I left PS3 after the hacked attack for a whole a month for which they apologised for.
-
Nope! Mine is perfectly acceptable
-
1 ReplyIt'd be great to see which names would be up for grabs from inactive OG players
-
1 ReplyI'm very happy with mine so it doesn't affect me one way or another but I would like to see Sony make this an option for all PSN users.
-
I was once forced a name... I was born with it, they made me die with it!
