This would be good I wish tlaloc was void and the outbreak prime was fire or do something like an elemental node to be put on your favorite gun able to be sold from xur for strange coins or banshee for legendary marks

Tlaloc is the name of a storm god, btw. Touch of Malice or thorn are much more void primary deserving exotics, that both fit in both lore and are needing in some love. I'm not against the idea of more exotics with elements, it especially start making primary exotics more considering to use more PvE activities, but they'll still get ditched in favour of exotic specials and heavies burn active activities when it comes to solar or (to a far lesser extent) void because they have some DPS monsters within the Exotic Ranks. But the truth is they don't have much meaningful effect in PvE, outside modified activities, that couldn't be replaced by a primary with explosive rounds (50% extra damage against shields). Maybe except when Specialist and no burn is on, primaries still dispatch mobs with ease, and burns make your special weapons chew through majors and shielded targets like nothing as it is. I'd love them back, and support their return, don't get me wrong, but I can live without them.
Internal screaming; BRING THEM BACK! PLZ BUNGO
20 RepliesNo. If they were the only guns with elemental damage then wed be pigeonholed into using exotic primaries exclusively, like people do with zhalo when its arc burn. I dont object to elemental damage eventually becoming infusable into kinetic exotics, but it should always start out with raid legendary gear. Specifically we should have static roll elemental primary gear like Y1. If we dismantle, say fatebringer, we should get an elental core for arc damage which we can infuse into any kinetic weapon, including exotics. This gives us incentive to repeatedly run the endgame content, not just to get what should be elite tier endgame gear, but also to get elemental cores to use for our other guns. But the pathway to elemental primaries shpuld be exclusively through the endgame PVE content, since elemental burn has no effect in pvp.

OB Prime would have been great to put a solar burn on. Honestly I'm not sure why bungie didn't do this. Tlaloc would be a great weapon to play around with but it's class specific. So, let's scrap that idea. Here me out through this next section. Bungie specifically stated why there won't be elemental primaries in the sandbox. That doesn't mean we can't have any. Honestly, I don't have faith that they can come up with ideas themselves, and that's why they have us. So, we have Zhalos. It deals arc burn. Now, the exotic perks go with the whole arc theme. Chaining lightning and whatnot. So, it makes sense that it would be arc. So, if we expect to see solar and void primaries. We should expect the burns to flow with the burns traits. bungie also likes to play what I like to call the "trade off" game. This is important in a later segment I won't give examples on that statement because I'll just be wasting my time everyone thinks it's too situational. It's not easy or op so no one cares. So I'll pitch this idea instead. I came up with this idea thinking about your tlaloc statement. Overflow would be a good perk to play around with. But like i said it's class specific. So, let's change the effect of overflow on a new exotic. Once your super is charged, your primary gains the element of you subclass. Pretty simple. Your energy is "overflowing" granting you that energy to your weapon. or (this is really where the "trade off" plays a part.) The weapon gains the element of your subclass. Firing shots takes small portions of your super. (Your super energy is what powers the weapon) so, if your super bar is empty, there's no elemental damage. It would not take alot of super energy per shot, but enough to still promote special weapon and heavy weapon usage and charge your super.

1 ReplyThey definitely wouldn't do it with tlaloc. That thing is already super powerful when you have the perk active, plus its a warlock only weapon.

Horrible idea

Now watch as the Bungie Defense Force marches in to defend Bungie's decision with their bs 'variety' and making the game 'too easy' excuses. I'm all for this with the implementation of cores that can be gotten either from Heroic raids or dismantling raid weapons. Also make it permanent so that if you wanted the same weapon with another element, you had to go out to find it again.
