Should anything from Destiny be brought over to Destiny 2?
Explain why or why not? Im curious about what the community want's for the next game.
*Edit: instead of just exotics i changed it to anything, because i liked what all of you posted down in the comments. Their Good idea's, and am also interested in what else that you guys want them to bring back. For me i would want the last word to be in the next game. It might not be in the next game, but hopefully they make something similar to it. Its fun hip firing and gives off a western vibe when i use it. Im gonna miss it.
*Edit: This statement is nothing big, but for the next game the lore and story may change if we are going into the future or past. If it doesnt then everything may stay the same.
*Edit: I am sorry to those who think i should'nt have changed the title, but like i said in the first edit people were talking about other things then exotics and they were really good idea's. I believe it should stay the way it is right now, so it can include both exotics and other things from the game.
*Edit: now there's two things going on in the comments section. One, is that people from year 1 and 2 have spent a lot of hours upon hours on this game. I'm a year one player which means i put 3 years into this game! Two, is that those who either just started or are from year 2 want a restart or bring a few things over. Now I'm gonna leave this up to the votes and the comment section, but i just said this so everyone can see what their dealing with or what others ( or yourself) have been through in this game that leads to today.

I think I want to keep at least one of my characters. Quite happy to start the game at level 1, with no gear and on a planet so far from the travellers influence that there are no light derived powers and you have no subclasses. I'd just like a familiar face there.

If I have the opportunity to start fresh then thats what I would like, new everything. I dont want anything to be carried over as Im not gonna use it. I want new more detailed characters as Ive always hated what I chose initially and as for armour and weapons, well thats the buzz, getting all that new gear. Having said that, it would be good to carry over items for those who want to but Im pretty sure if I did that, all of it would be left in the vault and never used, like it is now.

I say keep your characters at least, all weapons/shader/emblems can go i could care less. You can get new ones. But i would be pretty upset if they just scratch everything and probably not buy it again. I had destiny on xbox and was an og y1 player while i was 320 light (max at the time) i switched to ps4 and had to grind my way to get to the level i am now (400) i would like to keep my things that i played hours for. To throw it away would be ridiculous. I thought this game was about your guardian rising from the darkness and using its light to defeat enemys and go on journey and missions, why scrap it?

Destiny 2 needs to be new. We need to walk away from our tried and true equipment and be challenged again to find and collect new loot! And I mean NEW loot! Not more reskinned crap that bungie has given us every new dlc or update. New classes. New heroes. New enemies. New dedicated servers! Give us what destiny was originally supposed to be! Not this money sucking prostitute you have made it into!

(Emblems could make the trip I think) I would totally recant that statement if we get a lot of content from the first game. One thing I think would be cool though, is if our main from current destiny becomes our vanguard mentor in destiny 2. (Only the one you've spent the most hours with)

Why not having an overhauled huge game instead of a completely new one? Seriously, I don't get it. If you want a completely new game, just go ahead and buy one or play someething else. Just imagine, WoW would wipe your Chars along with all your progress every 3 years... I have chars that are older than some folks playing destiny and that's one of the main reasons I still play this game. That's what makes such games special and it keeps a lot of people playing over the years. I mean, it's such a good feeling, to log in with a char that you have been playing for more than a decade remembering everything you accomplished so far... It would be a huge disappointment (at least to me) if bungie would break their promise and would leave all the existing characters behind. Just my 2 cents.

I only said yes because there are a few things that are good. These things are only the gunplay, weapons, character personalities and me. I'm most important. If they keep these things and add matchmaking for everything and actually make a good story then I may buy it and then the best thing in the game (again, that's me) will play/be in it.

11 RepliesEdited by Bugatti Boy: 12/12/2016 7:53:19 PMI know this isn't going to happen (because, Bungie), but my idea is that we begin D2 with our old guardians, they somehow killed, as well as his/her trusty Ghost, by the Game's final boss. The perspective will then switch to a kinderguardian whose just received news of said death and decides to avenge whoever you played as in D1. While playing through the campaign, you do not have access to your old weapons, armor, or cosmetics, so you can get accustomed to the new gear. This would be the same as it would with D1, getting rarer and better as the story progresses, and with the final mission, the boss is now much stronger by absorbing the Light of your past guardian and their Ghost (lore guys, don't attack me if this isn't possible, it's just an idea), with the corpse left nearby. After killing the boss with a somewhat complicated, raidlike (but soloable for the common player), boss fight. You can approach the past version of you, you can retrieve his equipped gear immediately after killing the boss, and take said gear back to the tower. Upon knowing of you avenging this legendary guardian, the Speaker gives you the gear that your old guardian died with, his vault, while being able to keep the weapons, gear, and cosmetics you collected throughout your quest, as a token of gratitude. Then, typical endgame content can begin. [spoiler]TL;DR - Lose your stuff, get accustomed to new gear, reacquire all the old gear after completion of Destiny 2.[/spoiler] [b]Author's Note:[/b] [i]Constructive[/i] criticism is always welcomed! Edits will usually be done to fix or improve the storyline, whether it be grammar, fixing lore, etc. all thanks to you guys. I will try to read everyone's comments and ideas, so [u]please be patient[/u]! With time I will try to see how to further develop the storyline and hopefully this can catch the eye of some Developers.
