I don't see how people think Rift Iron Banner is so terrible.
This, along with the Supremacy Iron Banner, was the most fun I've ever had in the Crucible. No lag-outs, barely any shotgunners, no broken controllers.
I've always screamed at the game because it was so difficult to go through the Crucible and get wins, but now I can go through the Iron Banner and not shout a single time.
Update:
Since I first posted this, I've been in a few more matches with shotgunners, but it's still less than one would normally expect.

They are usually people that play small game modes and prefer 1v1 type of play. They show their KD off for pride in how effective they are at these modes. Rift is another animal. You can run distraction and die 1000 deaths as long as that guy with the universe looking thing recreated the big bang. They are not used to these people/styles/team play concept and it pisses them off. I don't agree with it but I understand.

2 RepliesMy opinion is that the game mode just doesn't matter anymore. With the new bounties and lack of rank packages, I really don't care about the wins, or Rank 5. I like their changes, but I'm also largely solo and borderline casual. I get why some don't enjoy it, but, by the time the Iron Marathon bounty is done, I'm done with the other bounties too, and thus, done with the Banner.

Here's something that doesnt make sense to me. I ran warlock to rank 5 between wed-fri and it was pretty smooth. I mean, I hate PvP - in this game specifically - with a burning passion so after one match I'm just going on auto-pilot. Still did "ok" and the carrot at the end, the scout rifle, made me suffer through it. I'm always playing solo btw. Come Saturday and with nothing better to do I decided to get the IB helmet for my titan. I figured that with the rank 5 buff from warlock I wouldnt have to play more than a a few games to get rank 3. WRONG! Those games I played were the sweatiest I've ever played in this game and I kept losing. Like Jesus Christ. And it makes no sense because the playerpool should be bigger during the weekends - meaning a less sweaty percentage. If anything it should be harder during week days, when those who are really serious about playing every day make up for the majority. What made Saturday even worse is that I didnt come across many teams. It was for the most part all solo player games, or games with only one small fireteam. The system must have been "-blam!- you, dude" because all the good players were consistently put on the other team. It reached the point where I actually took a screenshot of the emblems - when the cat emblem from ToO was on 4/6 players on the other team (and they werent in a fireteam). The best part, those were the first matches I ever played on Titan so we can put the whole "clean sheet" myth to rest. I re-roll a lot and not once have I noticed a difference in opposition between playing on a fresh character and one that has a k/d on 2.0 and a Crucible rank of 50.

I like it, but I don't like the lag and some really strange shit has been happening. I'm running the spark and all of the sudden the spark appears and the enemy takes it and now there are 2 spark runners. I'm on the rift with the spark spamming x and nothing happens. Along with a myriad of other odd shit that has been happening.

5 RepliesRift is annoying because of the spawns during a bad game. It gets old getting killed right after you spawn. It doesn't happen as often in other game modes.

Thank you! I had the greatest time in this edition, I'm finally learning to use the no land beyond, got some awesome captures, and a 10 kill streak that didn't show up in a long time

4 RepliesSpawn in and rush for the spark. Watch on radar the other 5 guys head off in the other direction. Some games i swear i dont even see some of my teammates. Too busy hardscopeing some alley nowhere near the spark. eg 2 guys camping on the portal on vertigo.

Seems like most people I played with, dont know how to play it. There just killing each other and not working towards the objective. Also think the scoring for rift is off. Also the maps are not designed for objective base games as well as they could be.

Also i dont see why you need a team to do well in this. I easily managed rank 5 and won many times against full fireteams.

My only complaint about it is the lack of legendary drops. I think it would probably be best to just have random 6v6 games. Any game can get old after awhile.

If you are protecting your rift, more than likely you are losing. The fact that a few of the maps are spawn dependent for securing a win also. Destiny needs to make more maps symmetrical. Kinda sucks that before the game begins you are at a disadvantage.

I had a better experience now and actully was fun cause getting rank 3 or 5 doesn't matter just finishing bounties and then gaining loot which I got stuff every 3 to 5 games so I'm happy

11 RepliesI'm literally only being killed by invincible blinking jumping all over the place shotgunners and the occasional savant sniper who can somehow easily land headshots through my HC rounds. Ridiculous.

I agree, but I still see a lot of shotgunners... I see more fusions too, however. I agree that it's fun though. Nerve-racking, but fun.
