The first time I read catcher in the Rye I thought holden was such a piece of shit and I thought the book was shit. But after analyzing it more, I found that Salinger is a genius for what he wrote: the symbolism especially. As for me I found Night by Elie Weisel to be marvelous. It inspired me to do the Holocaust art/writing contest and actually making it into the finals to meet Weisel himself, the last year he was there before he passed [spoiler]RIP[/spoiler]
