This is the first time in Destiny that I've had the 'wait for review' feeling. That Halloween shit was such a let down and I remember the last SRL was $9.99 for the book and all you got were extremely pointless things.
I just worry.. But I guess we will find out soon.

I'm not worried. I know for a fact it will be...
-
As long as we get light relevant items, I am good. I couldn't care less about token achievements.
-
1 ReplyI thought SRL was pretty stupid. Imo
-
I will be more surprised if it actually is filled with fun content .. but in reality SRL is going to be bungie trying to squeeze as much money as possible out of their player base with the least amount of content possible . It will mostly consist of things you pay for , like new sparrows , loot boxes and shaders . Of corse it's all items that have been reskinned because let's face it . That would just be too much work for them.. They will also most likely have a stupid quest or 2 that will lead to absolutely nothing special and a complete waste of time . Many like SRL. I think it's a joke. Racing doesn't belong in a shooter . The time and effort put into this event should be put into new replayable endgame content to keep players interested and happy . Not a dumb week long cash grab sparrow race to waste money on. Complete waste of time .

SRL = Successful Revenue Loss.
-
Won't be around. Destiny will have run it's course for me prior to X-mas. I'm only here for the beer and a set of Queen's Guard arms.
-
I'm not worried. I'd pay a lot for another book. *throws money at my screen*
-
It will be good. Fotl wasn't bad and it was way better than last year. You got a chance at all the loot and a free treasure box on each character. The rare drops were meant to be rare. If people wanted to pay for something then that's on them. I'm sure if they have a record book this year it will be free. And the racing will be fun.
-
I play SRL because I like racing. It's like playing Mario kart. There is no point, but it's a nice change of pace. The 320 light items from last year was a Yuge plus.
-
I am definitely worried about SRL for a couple reasons. One of which is the lack of actual gameplay content as noted with Festival of the Lost. Reason #2 would be - what is my reward or incentive for playing SRL? Last year, getting light level 320 helmets and class items was extremely difficult in the game, and SRL gave us the ability to grind for both with a decent chance of success. Now, nearly everyone that wants to be 400 is 400, so where is the incentive to play going to come from? I am definitely concerned.

-
Let me put it like this. Not...worry, just clairvoyant. There maybe more tracks and sparrows but its all going to boil down to people buying boxes to get stuff and saying "its my money ill spend it how I want", and going on b.net bitching about how they spent $100 and didn't get that....horn or.... grey cat 9009. And if there a pve event feel like I will be...patrols? or something underwhelming.
-
Depends if Bungie wants to please their players or please their shareholders...........
I'm sure it'll be their shareholders lol
-
16 RepliesThe point is......compared to what bungie did with halo.....they got very.....very......VERYYYYYYY.....VERRRRRRRRYYYYYY GREADY! and of course....people will go on defending bungie like slaves obeying their masters......the thing thats destroying the gamingindustry for gamers is MICROTRANSACTIONS! i mean up untill now with all the dlc's plus the vannila version....how much did we pay up untill now for ONE game...? This is crazy!!
-
1 ReplyI'm not worried about SRL being devoid of fun like FotL was. I think they will give us 2 new maps along with the old ones, and may even change up the old ones a hair. What's going to be different this time around is that a ton more people are max light so the grind won't be as necessary so I'm not sure if it will get as much run as last years.
-
If I'm not mistaken, the purpose of micro transactions were to fund future content and put out free dlc, but yet, none of the dlc has been free since that point and they are still charging us for event items... wtf...
-
It will be.

Sparrow racing league a.k.a. money racing out of your wallet league
-
7 RepliesProbably. I'm just interested in exploiting the races to gain progress on my chaperone quest, frankly. The last armor they offered for SRL was hideous, the sparrows aren't any better or worse than any other legendaries, the emblems are crap, and the shaders are...well, not black.
-
The last time slr was around I remember how excited I was for the first 3 races then I shrugged and played some strikes when the excitement wore off after sitting on a sparrow going really fast and then turning left. Fun for one run
-
I don't really see how it can be any worse than it was last year. Its like all the people asking for it had never ridden a sparrow before.
-
It will be, the 3rd quarter Activision earnings report had huge gains on microtransactions. That's where the money is, digital gambling on RNG packages. That's what we'll see more of.
-
Edited by joey big guns: 11/18/2016 4:35:53 PMDon't forget parts of the book were glitched at the beginning so you didn't even need to pay for it...😏or so I read.
-
I'm worrying to I liked srl but if everything is behind a paywall they can go -blam!- themselves
-
I hope that the majority of the gear is available through playing SRL, rather than the minority.
