Take SBMM outta the game
Im jxroll, and i approve this message. EDIT: LETS BUILD A WALL THAT SEPERATES SBMM AND CONNECTION BASED MATCHMAKING! (optional sbmm) If you like sbmm, see you on the other side.

No bad idea!! If we go to CBMM all the really good players and streamers would be steam rolling the rest of us casual players!! They only want it as CBMM because they are after easy wins!!

No matter which matchmaking settings are prioritized, there will always be people who complain. Which is why I have always proposed this idea: It's not hard to have both sbmm and cbmm... Just like how we get normal and hard modes for missions and strikes, just give players the option to choose which matchmaking settings they want to use for each crucible game mode... It's a super simple solution too. e.g. When you click on control in the navigator, just click the square and select "casual" mode (green) for cbmm or "competitive" mode (orange) for sbmm. I made a poll about this that I hope you all take a look at and that bungie notices too. I think it would help the community as well. Everyone needs to stop asking for SBMM and CBMM. With D2 around the corner, if everyone only ask for those, that's what they're gonna use. We need to ask that dedicated servers are implemented for D2 and forget about D1.

Better connections, not swearing all day, playing with more/less skilled friends and using non meta weapons are enough reasons for me to agree

The majority of people complaining about sbmm are high skill players and their grievances must be taken seriously. However getting rid of sbmm will remove all the benefits it provides for the rest of us. A better solution is to work on fixing lag and cracking down on players who cheat. Bungie needs to focus on providing an even playing field for all skill levels

matchmaking is a combination now. Most players know this. Skill is used with local close to you connections. if the distance or time to matchmake becomes too long they just use Distance Based Match Making. So your entire post is a moot point and wrong. the reason there is sometimes lag is A. cheaters more than you think and B. no dedicated servers. You connect directly to each other so you are having 12 people connect to each other. Its not optimal.

4 RepliesLet's add a ranked playlist, stats on both sides are different, so I could have a 3.0 on the, "casual" playlists, and a 1.5 in the ranked playlists. SBMM in ranked and CBMM in casual.
