No incentive to reach rank 5
Bring back rank related packages! We want loot!!
Edit: Because people seem to think I was born yesterday and play destiny with my eyes closed. Once you reach rank 5 once, there is no incentive to reach rank 5 on another character. Also if you are like me and already have a god roll clever dragon you may be uninterested in the vendor roll. Therefore, we need rank 3 and 5 packages.

I agree. I am only doing lvl 5 on one character. Then bounties on my others. Then back to original character. No reason to get to level 5.

There's more than enough loot to be had. If there is one thing that SHOULD NOT be complained about in IB it's the opportunity for loot.

Before you only got packages at 3 and 5. Now you get a package quality item with each of the 4 bounties. 4 > 2

The incentive is to get that god roll pulse rifle but bungie said that wasn't the point. The point was to play for then random drops.

Rank 3 packages were useless....the system is fine as it is now.

5 RepliesI really don't get how people are not liking the new IB system. Before, you'd get a rank 3 package that was useless, and then a rank 5 package that might have a weapon or more likely a piece of armour. With the new system you get guaranteed 2 max level pieces of armour and 2 max level weapons not featured in the post game drops. Plus they have made the vendor rolls God tier so it gives you some motivation to reach rank 5. The number of post game drops have also been increased substantially so I really don't understand why people are griping about the old packages that were pretty disappointing before.

I totally see what you're saying, but I actually like it better now. Especially the new bounties. Trying to land heavy kills was the most stressful thing about IB in the past. Getting supered on top of the ammo drop or missing with a rocket devastated me. I don't even like going for heavy in the game. Now I can clear all bounties without a single heavy. That's a plus for me.

I agree theres no incentive to get to rank five, however the rank packages have basically been replaced with the Iron Banner bounties which give guaranteed gear when you complete. This was DEFINITELY the right thing for Bungie to do since it takes away needless grinding. I completed all four of my bounties this time before reaching rank three. Which is brilliant because I have other things in my life to do. Yes, other things exist. So I dont want to grind and grind and this way, I no longer have too.

I don't care if they change it, cuz less grinding, but it is a little dumb we don't get a reward for hitting rank 5. Those vendor weapons have always been there for rank 5 so it's not like that's the new reward system.

Bounties are way better than rank packages. Before there was 2 rank packages and one was irrelevant. Now we have 4 gear bounties... dont be greedy.

There is never an incentive to this game unless you grasp the concept of rng. The incentive for iron banner is the drops and the rolls on the guns and gear that drop.
