Arc blade alone is a good super. It is now, and it always has been. Pair it with hungering blade, and you've got yourself a really damn fast, really damn tanky bladedancer. But as of right now, at least in my opinion (a bladedancer main), arc blade feels somewhat underwhelming. Why? Because the two (arguably) most powerful classes in the game have supers which immediately and usually effortlessly shut down an arc blade, even if the hunter does manage to get a swipe off. The two classes I'm talking about are strikers and voidwalkers, if you haven't figured it out. I'm not crying nerf or anything, not at all. Actually, I just wanted to hear other's opinions on this more than anything so...leave a comment down below on what you think about it.

I don't know man, I think the supers are pretty balanced now with only one exception: stormcrawler!! That's just a big, big joke...

If you havent noticed, striker is a direct counter to arcblade. It was vital in year one as it was the best way from stopping an arc blader from wiping you and your team. Void walker is similar but not quite as good. In fact, year one, titan used to save fist of havoc specifically for blade dancers. I would chase them down because they easily flipped the tables if they dont get shut down. Now that there are so many shot guns and other roaming supers though they are not so much of a threat. Just like strikers. If you dont put unstoppable on a hammer of sole will know you right out of your super. Same as arc blade. Although both striker and arcblade can take out storm trance. Barely though. Shotguns make striker harder now as well. 3/5 times im gonna die while attempting a riskier fist of havoc. Mainly because everyone has a shotgun. This means your going to want to not have 3/4 health when you fist of havoc someone because you run the chance of getting shotgunned in the middle of the animation.

Because it isn't the meta right now. Once they nerf Voidwalkers and Strikers, then maybe you have a chance at being top dog again /s
Seriously, -blam!- the rotation meta garbage
Arcblade shuts down radiance. All supers have counters. Golden gun also shuts down arcblade so 3 classes counter it.

4 RepliesOh look a Hunter suggesting his class needs a buff! Im so surprised! Guess what happens when Stormcaller faces a nova bomb? DEATH Guess what happens when Stormcaller faces Fist of havoc? DEATH Guess what happens when any super faces a nova bomb or fist of havoc...you guessed it DEATH Blade dancer is as strong as it needs to be. The blade dancer class overall is very strong with quickdraw, invis, one hit kill melee, and of course the super annoying skip grenades. Hunters please

11 RepliesOnly problem I have with striker and voidwalker supers are the lack of punishment for poor play. Those supers shouldn't need armor they happen incredibly quickly and do a lot of damage in that short time. Another problem is with striker mostly because you can kill them before they hit the ground all you want but little did you know they actually fart to kill you and you still die when they were already dead. Voidwalker is a problem because it's range fist of havoc without need of the range. You take damage from your own nova bomb but really it's still purple fist of havoc and that's dumb. Supers in general need a do over, they are stupid from a design standpoint. Making the player feel powerful is one thing but making them so powerful the only option for an opposing player is to super or output damage they probably don't have in a short time is stupid. Another option is a running game but the games features and design lack support for that. The game is a mess.

What about hammers and tethers?

1 Replythere's this shotty that is called matador. It lols at supers. Bladedancer has perhaps the best nuetral game imo. Skip nades, quickdraw, backstab and health regin on melee kills. I personally prefer frostees and bones of eao. both with control jump. blade isn't weak what so ever.

What about golden gun?😢
-
Sunsinger is the worst unless you use fusions.

4 RepliesStriker being one of the two most powerful classes in Destiny? What a laugh. Hunters whined non-stop for weeks and now striker is far from top tier. Titan skating is dead and shoulder charge is bordering on useless now. If you think Striker is top tier you should go play it yourself and you'll realize that it's not even close to top tier. Blade dancer is arguably the best class in 3v3 game types. You have Shinobo's Vow and quick draw which can be very powerful when used well. Blade Dancer is not quite as strong in 6s since you can be shut down a little more easily but for 3s Blade Dancer reigns supreme in my opinion.

9 RepliesThat's the point. Supers are a game of Rock Paper Scissors. Rock beats scissor, scissor cuts paper, paper covers rock. Same with supers lol.
-
As an arc blade i feel like you cant do much about shotty melee however an artifact ppl need to note is memory of perun ive avoided many slams and bombs because if i see a super saiyan titan or warlock i do not pursue super or not it gives you info for whether or not you will pop your blade good on roamings in general
-
18 RepliesI think it's more so the weapons in the meta that make bladedancer underwhelming. Everyone and their brother use a shotgun, and bladedancer being one of the only melee-based supers, doesn't fend too well against those buck shots and melees to follow it up.
-
well, thats their only purpose. you can either panic waste it, wait the entire game to get 2+ kills with it or you shut down a roaming super who otherwise could possibly kill your whole team. and yeah, im deciding for the later. however i believe arc blade is more "underwhelming" because everyone uses a shotty. use razors edge, i think thats the only thing that can give you an.... edge... over others. (wouldnt mind if they created an exotic that modifies / strenghts that ability to be a bit more competitive. to bad they decided to use the scraped exotic armors from ttk for rise of iron.)

The Fist of Havoc and the Nova Bomb are... well, kind of the counter to any and every roaming super. What do you seriously expect?
-
4 RepliesAre you the blade dancer I blew to oblivion earlier today with my nova bomb?
-
You left out gunslingers, every class has builds that can counter supers I run these subclasses respectively on each class for this purpose although with regard to striker and voidwalker I also use their supers to deny heavy or deny objective depending on the match type.
-
7 RepliesI threw a hammer at a blade dancer and he survived. Blade dancer is a tank
-
Skip grenades are the super basically nice with those new gloves
-
If you're fighting super with super, you deserve to juke that mothertrucker
-
I was playing as a bladedancer in The Anomaly. The entire team was in one area so I popped my bladedancer. Killed all six people and if one guy had respawned nearby I could have gotten a seventh column. I had the perk that regens health after a blade kill active. Trust me, bladedancer is actually in pretty good shape. You just can't use it right.
-
Supers just shouldn't be in the game at all or be significantly weaker across the board. All they do is give noobs free kills
-
I think stormcaller is a lot better at doing the same thing
-
I get 3 to 4 kills per blade dance. Set up your perks.

Fist of Havoc and Nova Bomb are made to shutdown supers. They shutdown every super except each other. Arc Blade on the other hand is shutdown by every other super besides Radiance (Radiance loses to everything). Even Ward of Dawn if you have Armor of Light can easily shutdown an Arc Blade with a shotgun. Arc Blade even shuts down itself. When two Blades go head to head it's pretty much a coin flip who wins.
