SBMM Needs to go
I have played 8 games this morning trying to win ONE! I had above a 3 KD and no wins.. wonder why? You give me fn potatoes on my team.. 1 guy all morning has went positive

For the people saying i need to capture the zones in zone control -
Why should I capture the zones if all my team is doing is dying while standing in each and every zone. Im trying to keep them off a zone. In a game i held the WHOLE entire team off B for half the game. If the other team is dead they cant capture zones. Ill continue watching as idiots on my team get all together in a zone, then run in a straight line to the next zone. Some of you have no clue how to play zone control or control in general.. yall continue trying to capture C while holding A and B.

36 RepliesI suck at pvp so I'm not one to talk but looking at your recent games of zone control you did not have a single zone capture. Maybe try playing the objective rather than just getting kills? Again I suck at pvp but I when I play zone control I try and capture the zones since that is what that game mode is about.

If you're the only one going positive, then clearly, you were given the potatoes to bring the win ratio down to 50%. That's not SBMM, it's win ratio control. Skill is considered, but matchmaking is not based on Skill. Common mistake made on this forum, but SBMM cops the flak for it.

4 Replieslol! In the last Iron Banner event I sat on the max 5 boons for over two hours while trying to get a single win to complete a bounty. I was so incredibly frustrated with the bullshit matchmaking. After finally getting a win I couldn't turn the game off fast enough. Haven't played PVP since then.

I dont see how it is fair that let's say that my kd is 4.0 I get two randoms that both have 0.5 Opponents have 2.0 and 2.0 and a 1.0 Seems like a fair fight but guess -blam!-ing what it's not because both those 0.5kd teammates are way out of their head in that game. Seems fair? Edit:it's not

This.... I have been seeing this recently. Although I am not a legend like you mate and my KD is a shameful .9 but most of the recent games I end up being the top scorer in my team with highest kd ratio (sometimes even positive)... and when that is the case my team is definitely bound to lose. I always get matched up against lighthouse tenants and I don't see how thats a SBMM... Also most of the time I am in red bar matches (specially the high kills on other side). I can attribute red bars to lag as usual but me being a scrub shouldn't be playing regularly with so high caliber people. I don't want to play against scrubs either it just need to be few notches above my level. Also half of the time I am joining in progress matches in place of deserters on teams that are trailing almost to a mercy rule. Something is broken badly.

8 RepliesIt is interesting that the title complains about SBMM, but then when the OP explains the situation, the reality is that he's not dealing with SBMM. If he was matched up with people of his skill level or around a 2KD, then 1) they wouldn't be potatoes and 2) they wouldn't be going negative every match. Wait...we're on forums...let's just complain about SBMM!!

That isn't a problem with SBMM, it's a problem with how they make teams up, it seems random, whilst it should divide the two teams to make up evenly skilled teams

6 Repliesmy biggest issue is when i play skirmish about 8 out of 10 games i get matched with full fireteams and aside from the disadvantage of me not being in a party and communicating with randoms the scoring system is retarded just played a match where we barely won by 200 points, yet we had 10 more kills than the other team

4 RepliesThat my friend is called being on the "Lag Team". It happens to everyone. It's RNG. It sucks when you're on a "lag team" streak. Just be thankful you were the one that wasn't lagging, there's always 1 that doesn't on the lag team. It sucks feeling like you're playing good, only to lose because of your teammates' scores. But don't blame them. It's not their fault. Most of them are probably actually even good players, but when you're on the lag team, it doesn't matter what you do. The other players are a bit ahead of you in "game time", which cause all sorts of wonky/laggy things to happen. But, that's what we like to call "Bungie Logic". Their way of keeping things as close to a 1-1 win ratio and 1.0 k/d, is to allow a lag team every match. It makes things easier for new players and casuals. That way the new players/casuals have a chance to beat the players that are better, and have more experience every now and then, because they're being suppressed on the lag team. But then to keep them "in line" with everyone else, they too get put on the lag team, to try to keep everyone at that 1-1. Don't fret though. I've found that usually (not always), but usually, if you're on a "lag team streak" one day, the next day you won't be.

Never, never had a problem with going positive or basically slaying in general. It's like bloom- it wouldn't take much to convince me that it's just a big community in joke. But it [i]has[/i] become prevalent for me finally now I've got some new bros to play with, who got K/Ds of about 1.7. Idk if this is SBMM but every game I'm in with them (k/d of 1) I get my ass handed to me

5 RepliesSBMM has made playing solo nearly impossible, I always get matched against teams of 4-5-6, sweating it and calling out. I like the idea a lot because the games are more competitive, but they need to make it so teams only match against teams. You know, like they had it in Halo?? Awkward bungie.
