I'm just going to say something.
Self-Rez is not a crutch, It is a benefit that allows Warlocks to make riskier plays in PvE. The Front Bomb in Vosik, being the runner on Oryx, Swordbearer on Crota, Relic Holder for Templar and Atheon, All important Roles that Warlocks are Great for because they can self revive.
Crucible/Trials is a non-Factor, for the simple reasoning of "Watch His Rez".
TL;DR: A fireborn Warlock isn't a crutch, it is a means that a player can make riskier plays to benefit a team
Edit: Apparently Holding onto Self-Rez doesn't benefit the team. Memory of Skori, nuff said.
Edit: We trending boys! Also loving that people are coming out to support my view, Thanks.
Edit: SMH. I never said Warlocks were the best for all these things, I said they were great for them. I'm willing to test running times at Oryx just to Annoy some of these hunter mains though, Swordbearer was an example.
Edit: To the elaborate on the whole "Riskier Plays"
I meant it in the means of, If another class for example, a Hunter went out and got front bomb and died in the Vosik fight early on, it's a wipe. Fireborn just lets warlocks take risks other classes shouldn't have to.
Edit 5: It has come to my attention that Titans can also solo Oryx.
Titans can block up to 3 with a bubble and a sword meaning it would take them 6 rounds minimum, for a hunter you can only block one with a sword
Aksis and Atheon however, are still only legitimately soloable by Warlocks.

3 RepliesThe best is when it's raid day 1 and 90% use warlocks. Hmmmm
-
Sunsingers are at their best when everything falls apart. They can un-blam!- the situation like nobody else, which makes them less useful when the situation isn't fubar, but that's the price you pay for a safety net
-
3 RepliesAin't nobody asked a sunsinger to be a swordbearer on Crota's End outside of a solo run...
-
Agreed.
-
1 ReplyI don't know why people make these posts I use all characters and all subclasses each have there pros and cons if you like one subclass cool use it if you don't like one that's also cool don't use it
-
Yes self rez by crota is definitely what I want in a swordbearer...
-
4 RepliesWhile they can make riskier moves they don't help the team as much as any other subclass. Titans have bubble hunters have tether warlocks have song of flame but we are talking about self-res here. The other classes are better in raids that's all I'm saying.
I do agree that it isn't a crutch but there are better class than self-res.
27 RepliesYour main skill is to DIE that just means you suck. You have to solo shit cus no one likes you.

5 RepliesEdited by Witnyce: 10/26/2016 2:59:23 PMCheesed* ^That's first. Secondly when has a warlock ever been swordbearer for crota. Killing a the on happened but shouldn't have been able to solo because of the rules. Doesn't a warlock normally grab first plate on oryx so if he dies he can self res? And I think I'll also be that guy to say that self res is in fact a crutch because you wouldn't perform those "risky" plays without it. You rely on it for those situations. What would you call that if not a crutch? For the 3rd edit: Didn't we test this early year two. You idiots either fell trying to move too fast or succeeded on the jumps but with the worst times. Titans were fastest. Hunters were seconds. You were third. For the 4th edit: Crutch. That's a crutch bro

1 ReplyWarlocks are op

4 RepliesAs a hunter main for two years, I was perfectly capable of running relic in the first three raids without dying, the only variable being Crota because the team actually has to take him down, and that didn't happen sometimes. Other two relics? Literally never died with without an entire team wipe.
-
DID YOU JUST -blam!-ING SAY WARLOCK AS THE SWORD BEARER!!!! HUNTERS AND TITANS WERE THE BEST FOR THAT AND DYING WASN'T REALLY A GOOD THING ON CROTA
-
Self Rez just makes warlocks take foolish mistakes just because they know that they can selfrez. Warlocks shouldn't take dumb moves just because they know they can revive.
-
2 Repliestheyre literally only good for that one perk on their super. rest of the subclass is trash. plus you could just git gud and not die in the first place?
-
11 RepliesSeeing how the only true raid warlocks have soloed is kings fall, every class could solo every other raid, the only reason you guys say that sunsinger is the best class, you wouldn't need it if you DIDNT DIE
-
46 RepliesEdited by Aramintai: 10/25/2016 8:50:44 AMIt's always great to see how Warlocks exploit self-rez ability to solo raid bosses, however it always annoys me that in a full fireteam they don't contribute anything with their super - no orbs, no damage or defense buff because they greedily sit on their super until they die. Sure, if they die they can self-rez and prevent a wipe, but that's just correcting a mistake on their part. Hunters and Titans are way more useful in the raid.
-
5 RepliesSelf-rez is a support class people. Its super is not that amazing, unless you die. Or use it while youre alive, but that ruins the whole point of the super (imo). Thats the whole point of the freaking super. To revive. If it's a crutch, then nightstalker and bubble shield is a crutch and if you use it then you're a scrub.
-
6 RepliesIt's not self Rez that's a problem, it's the fact that the other classes has so much better kits for the raid. I wish Sunsingers would have a really solid support ability like bringing people back to life in exchange of their own. That would probably lessen the stigma on them.
-
2 RepliesI think the message is that warlocks are the only class so far that's been able to solo (2) of the hardest raid bosses available in game that no other class can due to ability restraints . So yeah call self Rez a crutch , but until you can do the same without it ( kill aksis solo) then go whine about it somewhere else.

2 RepliesEdited by WulfPak666: 10/25/2016 5:44:35 PMThe thing I love the most about Sunsingers is how they make people flipflop all the time. You know this to be true. You're playing a raid and one of your warlock buddies die, they self rez to get back into the fight. Someone will bitch and mock them for being "pussies" who can't stay alive and rely too much on self rez. However, that person will be the same guy who throws a fit whenever something happens and there are no self rez warlocks to stop the team from wiping and whatnot. I mean... whenever a titan or hunter dies, do we mock them for playing stupidly or dying to glitches?? I don't. Sometimes shit happens and it's nice to have a plan B.

Star fire protocol double fusion grenades hold on to super use tialoc and skorris artifact , surely this set up helps with raids.

1 ReplyEdited by iPeeWheniLaf: 10/25/2016 5:03:50 PMI agree totally. I love my Warlock and feel like they don't get enough love. Viking funeral helps a good bit for DPS, too. Ultimately, I know how to use my fireborn super. I also understand that if there is a shit load of orbs near me and I have my super ready, I'm either going to use it for DPS with Viking funeral or I'll use it to make orbs for other people since I'll get it right back. That goes for every super, though. There are still way too many Sunsingers that use it as a crutch instead of an oppurtunity
-
I'd make one change, during Radiance the stackable armour debuff from Viking Funeral is now 10%. I always pop Radiance during damage phases. Senseless hanging on to it.
-
3 RepliesI personally don't feel like using a super that requires me to die (be it on purpose or because I suck) to be able to make use of it
