And you see someone who is a higher light level and you want help... don't spam them with game invites or party chats, send them a message first and see if they're busy or if they even want to help you... spammed invites are so annoying.
Edit: I thought I was alone. Clearly, a lot of people feel the same as me; send us a message telling us what you need help with. It's not that hard. No message. No help. Spam = blocked.
Edit 2: This goes for friends, too. I don't mind helping out. I don't think I'm better than anyone, but there's still stuff I need to do in this game from week to week, so just send me a message to see if I'm busy. Out of all the comments, one person thinks I'm a douche. Lol. Look at my k/d and all my raid completions... I'm not a top tier player, I don't play Trials, and I just recently started doing KF on hard. My wording might suck, but the point still stands. And we're trending.
Edits 3: It seems I've been called an idiot and also told to get a life. Feel free to insult me. I'll just add you to my mute list. Thanks! Also, so many replies. Holy moly. Judging by the comments, I can tell who that one annoying friend is... All the down votes must be those same exact people I wish to avoid.
Edit 4: 300 upvotes. Thanks guys and girls. Keep it up.

It's always funny, if I reply and ask, what they want to do and then I simply get another invite ;-) I'm not reacting then and if they keep spamming me, I go to orbit...
-
I know, it's annoying AF. I've had way too many invites from lower levels without a message
-
What I do is ask politely, and if they dont proceed to help. Find another person, easy. And when someone asks you for help, ask what they need help with.
-
It's a courtesy thing. I don't just spam invites or jump into someone's fireteam/chat unless they're one of my closest and most regular party members and I know they won't mind. (That's a small list, 3 people, MAYBE) For outsiders, I send a message first asking if I can join them. (Typically for Iron Banner) If you send an unsolicited invite, I'll simply respond with a message saying, "Sorry, not interested. Also, randomly inviting people is both annoying and rude, send a message first." I've done all there is to do, I've gotten all my gear, so I don't mind spending time helping someone out; especially if I'd just be wasting time running Strikes/Crucible anyway. But please have enough respect to ask me first.

Imo the destiny community suffers from a bad case of improper group etiquette.

1 ReplyI used to get spammed in the Tower. Rarely happens now though.

1 ReplyThis was way worse when you had a full set of vault gear in vanilla.

2 RepliesSome kid with 250 light invited me to his fire team, so I joined. He tried to fly into trials. There was only 2 of us
-
Totally get you bro. Spamming me party invites inclines me to ignore you
-
I agree. I have helped with different things if they message me and tell me what they want. But the constant game invites is annoying and I won't respond to it.
-
I'm with you. It's always been common courtesy to send a message before initiating an invite. If you do that crap in an mmo it everyone just sends you to their blocked list.
-
Getting unexplained invites from people on your friends list is just as bad. Especially if they took a second to see I am in the middle of a crucible game and can't look at their spam right then. Ughhh drives me nuts.

Edited by MRxMOSH: 8/26/2016 9:33:15 AMI have helped people with Nightfalls and even CoE but only when they send messages if its just invite spam they get blocked on my XBL
-
send message right idiots...bump
-
I always help people if they send me a message when I'm in the tower, spamming invites and I ignore you
-
8 RepliesLmao get a life dude. We all get them, turn off invites from randoms or deal with it. Hardly a problem
-
Usually results in a block, not help
-
When I get one of those I look at it and if I don't see a reason for the invite, I delete it.
-
All depends on how I feel. I have friends from tower msgs. However if I'm getting hammered with spam invites I block them.
-
Or spamming random girls with invites.. (You know they're a girl because you checked out her gamer profile and it's a girl's name)
