really hope that a 2.0 patch releases alongside it to make pvp balanced/fun to play. all weapons need to be viable (dark 2), poise should be redone (make it like dark 1, maybe), invasion mechanics need to be reworked (don't prioritize ganks), and rolling needs less i-frames or more recovery, among other things

  • 1. There's a difference between a gank squad and a guy with an extra phantom or two. If you keep getting put into the same world try invading somewhere else. For the most part after my like fiftieth invasion a host with one phantom is really fun, two is still winnable, three I just want to kill at least one. 2. If you do your build right, any weapon is "viable" as you say. It's probably not quite as effective as the DMB twin blade combos you most likely walk right into but with skill, spacing, and a little practice you can be deadly with anything.I love invading with unconventional weapons like butcher's knife or the big ass spiked mace or anything that looks fun. Not everything needs to hit like a sellsword combo or gotthards combo. 3. They said poise is working in this game how they want it too. If you made it how it used to be then everyone would do a one shot build, tank the first hit and kill you. All the weapon arts have what seems like a set amount of poise. Gotthards for example, I get kicked out of my spin animation all the time because it's so low, there for its my job to make you walk into it and not hit me. If poise worked like it used to I could just have havels gear, DMB, combo you and if your still not dead one roll poke would do it. It's just all about learning your weapons better then the other guy. 4. Honestly when people panic roll away it's hilarious. It gives me time to do a clap emote, regen all my stamina, or drink an estus if it's that kinda fight. You can literally run past them while rolling and get behind and will most likely have more stamina when they are done. That or washing pole they bitch ass. Oh and boosted roll invincibility isn't better then the damage taken increase, shits trash bro. I honestly think like 80% of the problems people have with invasions is the unwillingness to actually try to work around it. Try and try again and work on fighting multiple people instead of just being upset it's a gank. Parrys have made gank spanks so easy it's sad. There's so many tactics and options. You know you really aren't limited to just the "op" build. Tldr: obligatory git gud

just because it's "workable" isn't an excuse for the mechanics to be bad. i could play pvp and be better than most people, but it's just not fun in 3 as it was in other games. sure poise "works," but it would be better as it was in dark 1. roll spamming is beatable, but it's not fun to fight against. Parries being the only way to beat gank squads is not a good thing either tl;dr: am good, but game's pvp mechanics aren't

  • Seems how you didn't give an example well just leave poise as your opinion. (Even tho I stated why that would suck and how to counter it) parrying isn't the only way to beat a gank, I just said that because it's the easiest.(you seem to be looking for the easy way out) Iv never parried someone in DS3 and beaten plenty of actual gank squads. As for roll spamming...what? Iv fought one person who was under 30% using bloodring, milkring, and green blossom and rolling everywhere, That was also a duel and he got pancaked by my ugs. So I don't know how "roll spamming" is the huge problem you make it out to be. If people keep rolling your attacks you need to time it different. As for weapon balance, like I said it's all about doing your build right and getting better with your weapon. Not everything needs huge damage just because you can't use it. It's more then "workable" DS pvp is awesome. You say you are good yet you just bitch about the mechanics. You sound like you want to play candy land not Dark Souls. Tldr: literally everything you complain about can be worked around with skill and practice

lol why are u so mad over my opinion on a video game? well whatever i'm clearly not changing your opinion. all i'm saying is that ds1 and 2 pvp were better in every way. anyway, have a nice life, i'm sure ur parents are proud that u told a guy to "git gud" at a game (that he is better than u at) at on the internet

  • I'm not mad, just having some souls discussion on a gaming forum. Good for you, sticking to your opinion and all. Maybe you should stick to ds1 or 2 aswell. (Maybe you'll have less to bitch about) One thing tho, try not stating how good you are when you literally complained about every mechanic, but hey don't try to find away around it just whine its broken! (Nerf this buff this Jesus this isn't #Destiny bro) Also sorry I didn't mean to make you all butthurt talking about my life and parents. Just trying to help a poor guy who sucks at dark souls.
we can 1v1 if you think you're better bitch. I'll try not to roll to much because apparently that's bad
I gave my opinion on what all of the other games have done better than 3, and then you replied with quite a bit of unneeded aggression. But then again, i guess that's just a normal response for someone such as yourself. So whatever, you have fun with "workable" pvp. Don't forget to brag to your parents that you know how to press the "B" and "RB" buttons, i'm sure they'd be impressed. Also tell them about that time when you assumed some guy on the internet sucks because he likes dark souls 1 and 2 pvp better (as many people do). Anyway, i have better things to do than argue with some nobody with anger issues, so i'll end this here. Have a nice life!
i would stomp you, but i don't have an xbox. Lucky you.
• I agree, a huge patch will probably come out with more of a focus on PvP. I think the weapon rebalancing will definitely happen, but beyond that I'm not sure. Poise is at an odd place right now, and doesn't work like it did in DS, so who knows what will happen there. For ganking, I've found that it is much more common if up you are over levelled for an area, as it is for most invaders. Ganking is not prioritized, it is simply that the level range you invade into has more gankers than those trying to progress. As for rolling, I have seen no issues there, so could you maybe explain your reasoning behind that? I also hope that they will do something for the auto-summon covenants, but that is wishful thinking.

  • invasion matchmaking prioritizes hosts with phantoms according to several different sources i have seen, and it has worked like that during pretty much all of my invasions. rolling in other games was punishable if it was spammed or used poorly, while in 3, you can just chain rolls together with a very small chance of getting hit, especially when using the Carthus Bloodring. they made auto summon covenants at least functional for everybody in a previous patch, so hopefully they will continue to improve there

  • Right, I forgot about prioritizing people with phantoms. I guess that compounds the effects I've stated earlier, though. I personally haven't felt too much of a different in the way rolling works in 3 rather than 2, probably because the classic PvP lag makes everything harder to judge. I'll keep an eye out for that in the future. A problem with the auto-summons is that some of them are no longer relevant past a certain level, so it makes the Aldrich Faithful and Watchdogs of Farron somewhat hard to level up in if you didn't have prior knowledge. My hope is that they provide an easier way to get rewards for those, or that in the new arena, you get a reward based on the covenant that you are playing as.
