So the title sounds a little harsh, but I'm honestly just baffled and looking for genuine answers. The King's Fall raid has been out for almost a calendar year. However, there are still a lot of guardians who are unable to perform the platform jumping at daughter's or know which plate to go back to (the argument over plates or numbers being a big problem at daughter's).
Question 1: Why do people insist on doing numbered plates at daughter's? A good group should be able to adapt to either method. However, when you're in a PUG or with less experienced players keeping the same plates is the safest option. No one has to stop and look for the relic and then count until they figure out which plate to run to. You just run to the same plate unless you're torn and then at that time you would call out your plate position for the previous torn person to cover that plate. Easy Peasy. AND YET people insist on doing numbers so that these newbs can all stand around with pee dripping into their tireless striders not knowing where to run to. I don't get it.
Question 2: Why can't people platform jump after all of this time? Enough said. WHAT THE F!!!!
I did LFG last night and some titan put a bubble on top of the group trying to shoot at Ir Anuk. OMG. Needless to say it was too frustrating to take my baby huntress (who I created on Saturday) through the raid.
Before King's Fall was released I believe Bungie put out a stat saying that only around 17% of guardians had completed a raid. I would bet that number is even lower with the King's Fall Raid and (in my opinion) is the reason the Rise of Iron raid will be dumbed down for people and will not be *as* fun to run. Instead of requiring skill and execution (as well as light level) the RoI raid will see success more based on how high your light level is rather than light level and performance in the raid. WHY is this necessary? Are people no longer born with opposable thumbs?
Information on the new raid was taken from http://gamerant.com/destiny-rise-iron-raid-level-wrath-machine/ which is taking it from the Game Informer interview.
This is the internet so I'm sure all of you snarks will have something to say but I am not trying to be mean in any way here, I am genuinely befuddled.

I had to like this, it's so true.

Worst part is people need to learn that they need to learn things, and to be humble.

1 ReplyWhilst not genuine reasons King's Fall is most unforgiving of raids when it comes to mistakes. If one person makes a mistake it almost always results in having to restart that section as it either leaves you too short handed and/or starts the dominoes falling. As for not being able to jump, it comes down to practice. I have hammered the concept into my clan raiders that before you raid, you must know you character inside out. Perk combos for different situations, what jump does what and how far each will take you etc. The bottom line being if you don't know how to use your character correctly it's likely to make you a liability - how any times have we heard the 'I hate the [INSERT CLASS} jump'. Everyone makes mistakes but when people are missing one of the first two plates vs Daughters it is just sad. The other issue, and its kind of a design problem, is the difficulty jump from the hardest PVE non-raid content of relevance to King's Fall is quite large. Ideally there should be something a bit tougher to get you ready for raid difficulty.

8 RepliesWell I just don't understand the plates bit so do I stand on plate 4 or nah?
-
Too many weapon restrictions and lacks the chilled fun VOG and CE had.

Lots and lots of reasons. I'll use my friends as examples I guess. For the jumping part, I have quite a few that can't see anything when they're torn. Not everybody has good eyesight so this part is easy to understand. Hell I even have my brightness at 2 or 1. Anything brighter and I can't see shit. Some people are also older so they don't have good reflexes. Others just play casually so they're not all that familiar with the mechanics much. Some just haven't done the raid enough times to get good at it. I haven't done the raid in....goddamn how long has it been?? Anyways I used to raid a lot. Enough to where even though I haven't done it in forever I still know the mechanics by muscle memory. Pretty much the reason why I can get incredibly wasted and still do better than most of my friends. BUT.....there's always that one person who makes you think "how....how are you so bad at this game?!!" It's fun playing with him though. He almost has this child like amusement when he plays. It's hilarious. (We're not mean to him though!)

Edited by RAVPAV59: 8/24/2016 12:54:39 AMI dunno mang. I didn't even bother with hard mode cause the raid weps don't have burn. Kinda pointless.

I agree with what you're saying. I think roi will bring back everyone's favorite. .... cheesable mechanics. Kings fall is unforgiving. The weak and unprepared are exposed and bring the whole team down with them usually.
-
I just didn't like the raid. I've only played it a few times even though I play destiny on an almost daily basis. The raid just wasn't as good as the other two in my opinion and the weapons and armor are very lack luster in comparison to other available items.

10 RepliesEdited by chickengoujohn93: 8/24/2016 12:29:07 AMReal Raiders stopped playing months ago from sheer boredom. Those playing Kings Fall now are... - Relatively new players (can't really blame them) - Casuals in panic mode trying to get last pieces of gear before the Raid becomes a ghost town when RoI releases because they didn't play enough throughout Year Two. - Incompetent players who are so bad that they dragged teams down, and due to their incompetence they have prevented themselves from completing the Raid on a consistent basis. As a result of this they are still missing Raid gear, Exotics, Fragments etc and will continue to drag you down until they get everything they need. - Small minority of addicts who need their weekly fix. Not enough of them to carry the saturation of dead weight currently associated with Kings Fall.

Well, in my Defense I haven't played Kings Fall... Wait? Then how do I know I'm terrible? Maybe I'll be amazing! Brilliant! Yes! YEEEEEESSSSSSS! nope... Terrible...
-
Unfortunately the raid was designed where you require a full team of somewhat competent people to complete multiple parts. I've done a couple of raids and tbh I don't mind new people so long as they can follow direction and learn from their mistakes. That is honestly the only reason the raid is enjoyable now, hearing new peeps get excited about loot

1 ReplyBecause apparently jumping and/or shooting at the same time is hard for people who do not use Bumper Jumper. That, or people still do not know how much Agility to use when traversing jumps.(sans Lift Ability)
-
By now even with randoms you should know you always do set plates with 2 on add control and 1 of those 2 is the designated person to cover a plate if needed. You use the numbered plates for Oryx. As far as running during the sisters Hunters and warlocks are best and super easy but with a certain start point can be tricky without hitting the ceiling. If your having a titan run during Oryx your kinda not all there.
-
Never done the raid, myself. I was all about them in Year 1, but I don't have anybody to play with anymore. I also don't want to hassle with finding random people on my days off to guide me through it.
-
1 ReplyNew people pick up the game every day. It's free on Xbone last time I checked, so you can probably expect a new influx of folks who don't know the raid mechanics.
-
4 RepliesI have never done the raid, because I don't think I have enough time or skill to get anywhere. Not to mention I don't have anyone to do it with. I doubt I will ever be able to do Wrath of the Machine, either.
-
2 RepliesWhen referring to daughters are you saying you hate when a player receives a number to go to or hate when players just go to the same plate?
-
They have no humility. They cannot come out and say they do not know how.
-
3 RepliesI would say it's because people who are new to the raid are not helped for the most part. Experienced players refuse to teach, guide,or even raid with them at all
-
2 RepliesI know right? Last time I did a raid was in February and I only started again this week. Each raid lasted over 2 hours wiping at nearly every checkpoint. I miss finishing a hard raid in 35 minutes...

idk pve is pretty hard

2 RepliesPeople are inherently stupid and rely on a few smart people to get them by in this world. Just go out and drive a car and you'll see a plethora of jackasses.
