Why are people still terrible at king's fall

So the title sounds a little harsh, but I'm honestly just baffled and looking for genuine answers. The King's Fall raid has been out for almost a calendar year. However, there are still a lot of guardians who are unable to perform the platform jumping at daughter's or know which plate to go back to (the argument over plates or numbers being a big problem at daughter's). Question 1: Why do people insist on doing numbered plates at daughter's? A good group should be able to adapt to either method. However, when you're in a PUG or with less experienced players keeping the same plates is the safest option. No one has to stop and look for the relic and then count until they figure out which plate to run to. You just run to the same plate unless you're torn and then at that time you would call out your plate position for the previous torn person to cover that plate. Easy Peasy. AND YET people insist on doing numbers so that these newbs can all stand around with pee dripping into their tireless striders not knowing where to run to. I don't get it. Question 2: Why can't people platform jump after all of this time? Enough said. WHAT THE F!!!! I did LFG last night and some titan put a bubble on top of the group trying to shoot at Ir Anuk. OMG. Needless to say it was too frustrating to take my baby huntress (who I created on Saturday) through the raid. Before King's Fall was released I believe Bungie put out a stat saying that only around 17% of guardians had completed a raid. I would bet that number is even lower with the King's Fall Raid and (in my opinion) is the reason the Rise of Iron raid will be dumbed down for people and will not be *as* fun to run. Instead of requiring skill and execution (as well as light level) the RoI raid will see success more based on how high your light level is rather than light level and performance in the raid. WHY is this necessary? Are people no longer born with opposable thumbs? Information on the new raid was taken from http://gamerant.com/destiny-rise-iron-raid-level-wrath-machine/ which is taking it from the Game Informer interview. This is the internet so I'm sure all of you snarks will have something to say but I am not trying to be mean in any way here, I am genuinely befuddled.

  • Because not everyone raids. It's that simple.

  • Cause new people to it are faced with ridiculous requirements. Pretty much anyone looking to do the raid for the first time after one month of launch can forget it on LFG.

  • I've gotten all three of my characters to 335 without ever doing the whole raid. Regardless, even if I ever find a team to do the raid the team always seems to fall apart at one point or another.

  • Speaking from a relatively new players perspective, I haven't done any raids to date and I've only been playing for a few months. I would probably suck at kings fall my first time around. However, as long as people have mics it shouldn't be much of a problem

    • Cuz most people don't need raid anymore so it's harder to find skilled players to do it.

    • Well to answer question 1 there are many people that haven't done the raid because there not good enough, plus experienced player don't like carrying newbies through a whole raid. Question 2 some people are just idiots, if you can't jump like seriously what are you doing. No logical explanation for that. Question 3. And as far as plates and numbering goes people have there own ways of doing thing weather it's numbered or clockwise to anticlockwise it's hard to understand what all people want

    • A lack of support from older Guardians who are not willing to run people through or help them with raids. Which is why we have a large group of untested new guardians who are still stumbling on them.

            • King's Fall is designed in such a way that you are progressively learning mechanics with each encounter. The culmination of this is the Oryx fight. People have issues with the last bit of the raid, because they have not adequately learned what came before. In the court, the team learns about timing (and communication of said timing). You need to grab the tomb husks and slam them within a small window of each other. This seems simple, but there are many small nuances here that people often miss. For example, if you are in the centre, before clearing adds try clearing the top doors on both sides. How does this help in the Oryx encounter? Does "3,2,1 bombs" sound familiar, because it should. The jumping puzzles teach platforming, which is needed to be the runner...why can't people run at daughters/Oryx? Because they haven't gotten good enough at platforming. Totems teach teamwork, mobility and the importance of add control. If you have a hard time sniping your knight at Oryx, you need to practice this more. Warpriest teaches you about holding plates and plate order: I.E "Plate 1 up" etc. You also learn about having an aura here. Golgoroth was supposed to teach you about target prioritization. The "one orb strat" was actually an adaptation of the community. The raid devs intended for us to bounce between the orbs. This encounter was supposed to teach you how to quickly pick out a target and take it out quickly . I.E. Take down first orb, DPS Golgoroth, take gaze, drop second orb, etc. In the oryx encounter, this would be used to rapidly take out the ogres and knights. Cheesing this encounter is one of the major reasons people struggle with Oryx. Daughters teach you the arena, plate jumping and aura of immortality. As for Oryx, the only new mechanics are the shade and meteor. The shade you learn about in the story, and the meteors are just about staying mobile. So to answer your questions, the reason people don't know how to do the raid is because they haven't fully learned the mechanics on the prior raid encounters. They have a general idea, but lack the practice and don't know the small nuances that make the encounter go smooth. P.S. Using numbers as opposed to plates for Daughters teaches how numbers works - this is not required, but will make Oryx easier. It is just a good habit to get into.

              • You want to know why? Because stuck up dicks like you don't bother to help us learn or even try help us through a raid. So get off your high and might throne and teach people if you are so good.

                • I have plenty of old raid completions now but I got into Destiny 9 months after release. There were plenty of great people that took me through and friended me on lfg. I NEVER had attitude from any of them because I was a noob or didn't have a gjallerhorn. I keep the same attitude now and gladly take noobs through all of the raids when I get the opportunity. I took a 7 year old through KF 2 weekends ago all the way to Oryx. It's a good feeling. Not really sure why you are confused that people don't know what you know.

                • I have a hard time with said jumping platforms at Daughter/Oryx because I can't see very well through the black and white, clouded screen. This is a legitimate answer that I hope people consider before criticizing others. Thank you.

                  • Ran the raid with 3 new people last week. did oryx first run. All it takes is a good team captain. Thanks to my buddy "talk poop" i was able to carry 3 people through this. I'm sure you're good and know how to do the raid but you are seriously the worst person to raid with. I'm always able to help new people.

                    • People are "bad" for some very obvious reasons. You claim you aren't trying to be mean, but usually when you have to tell people that you aren't trying to be mean, that's exactly what you are doing. Any intelligent person would figure this out without needing it explained to them in a thread. Not the least if which: 1) They're bad at the game 2) They aren't trying 3) They have a hard time comprehending the mechanics 4) They haven't done the raid before, or have only done it a couple of times. 5) They aren't good at jumping 6) No one is willing to calmly explain mechanics to them. Take your pick or even add a few reasons of your own. Glad I could help remove the mystery for you.

Same reason some people suck at pvp, it's been out since launch yet some people can't scrape by with a positive KD to save their lives. Certain things aren't easy for everyone. I've never done the hard mode raid because of people like you.

There will always be raid noobs who need advice/ practice. Elitists are also to blame for not granting players a chance to practice. I booted many elitist wannabe's in my days of raiding with LFG's. The reason there are people that still can't do it is simply because everyone is different . Surely you aren't so closed minded to believe otherwise . I'm genuinely "befuddled" that you don't understand that . Like I say man I'm not trying to hate on you dude but your post really comes over as completely self righteous.

                              • Took 5 months off, came back expecting people to hate cuz I was 320... max when I left. So I finally got I to a raid group and boy people are absolutely garbage. People dying and struggling at 333 335 are embarrassing. I miss the old clan for sure, now it seems everyone "thinks" they are good but in reality are casual at best.
