OK so for right now I have to go to my sons place to play. But all he can get is Comcast for Internet. My problem is it keeps going in and out and it's annoying as fudge. Anyone else that uses Comcast as their ISP have this problem?
I personally don't like Comcast but like I said it's all he can get where he lives. I wish he could get the company we use to have as they have better service IMO.

Yeah, my internet goes out like once a month, but it's at the worst possible time. I was playing a CS competitive and got a week ban for losing connection.

2 RepliesWith Comcast i suggest returning any modem or router they provide and buy your own modem and router....it was the best decision I ever made

1 ReplyHave used Comcast, Centurylink, TWC.. Amd right now on Comcast TWC internet has been best. Comcast is all right but customer service for issues is really bad. Check if he can go wired (lan cable), might be wifi acting up.

1 ReplyMy sister is a lawyer, her husband IT. I was having trouble with my Internet always going out, I called the company repeatedly and the problems persisted. One day my sis and her husband cane to visit. Told them the issue, and they spent an 1hr tag team yelling at the company. Haven't had a problem since for 2 years lol.

3 RepliesI have Comcast Xfinity and pay for the Blast speed at minimum of 50 Mbps. I averaged below 50 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload. I went and upgraded my router to ASUS RT-AC3100 Extreme Wi-Fi router because I too was getting tired of getting dropped. But since the router upgrade I have been online heaven. I now average between 75-100 Mbps download and 12 Mbps upload. It might be due to the router, you should check it out.

Edited by HarlesinCharge0: 7/28/2016 1:50:23 AMThe cables running into his house are most likely faulty and good luck getting those fixed. It took them 5 days to replace my modems power supply. If you really want them fixed you're going to have to take out the wires yourself. This will force an outage and they'll have no choice but to fix it. Oh don't admit to cutting the wires. If you take out the neighborhood they can't narrow down who did it.

Comcast is pretty reliable where I live. I very rarely get internet outages over here.

3 RepliesI have Comcast and it does go out kind of frequently, I don't like Comcast but were I live you have only two choices for providers, Direct TV and Comcast

1 ReplyCall them. If you're having issues with your service don't suffer in silence. There's only a limited number of things thay can be going on (aside from some wonky issues with primary server routing) and even that can be investigated if you have a diligent person there.

I have Comcast, does pretty good for me.

1 ReplyEdited by Oh_4_Kill: 7/27/2016 8:40:22 AMI use Comcast as well and my internet keeps going out. Apparently many others are experiencing it as well.

I have had Comcast about 8 years and never had any real issues. I had an issue once and it was caused in a cut in the line. Tech came out and patched the cut and didn't have any issues after. Any other issues have been weather related and well everything goes out

1 ReplyEdited by Gravy Train: 7/27/2016 9:40:07 AMMine was going out sporadically so I thought maybe my modem was dying so I called them. Turns out in my building some new people moved in and when they had Comcast install their service the tech didn't do it properly and just split the lines. By the time the signal reached my modem it was split multiple times and weak. They ended up sending techs to add more lines to the building and haven't had a problem since. In short, make sure the line, if cable, isn't split too much. One splitter is fine but more than that and the modem has difficulty communicating.

5 RepliesComcast is best when using an Ethernet cord. What type of modem/router is he using? That could also be it. I've been using Comcast for a long time and have the modem-router they rent out and it works pretty well.
