It Seems Destiny has Finally Reached its End for Me.
I used to love this game since the day it was released. I remember doing VoG with my closest friends. Each of us were intrigued by the mystery around it, as well as frustrated by it's difficulty.
Unfortunately, I was the only one who really enjoyed PvP. So as they grew tired of the game, I began to make new (PvP) friends in the Destiny community. I'd say this began around the rise of year 2.
With year 3 around the corner, Destiny has changed tenfold. The once admirable community has become a cancer. Stupid shit like elo has turned players into selfish stat whores. Kids look me up on Destiny Trials Report during trials and decide to camp in their spawn, and I'm not even that great. Since I don't have the patience to wait for capture point every round, I lose to these kids at times... usually receiving some message talking shit afterward. I just wanna play the game, and have fun playing it. I rarely find enjoyment in this game anymore. In fact, I usually find boredom or annoyance.
Long story short, the only thing keeping me in this game are the several friends I've made in the process. The community itself is a mere shell of its former self. The newer members will reply with things like "bye lol" or "no one cares". I'm not looking for you to sympathize me, but sympathize what used to be a great game and group of players.
Don't even get me started on the works of Bungie...
It simply seems after 1000s of hours, Destiny is finally reaching its end for me. I will still get on from time to time, maybe just for the race for 1st to lighthouse. I always find enjoyment in that....
To those of you remaining from the orginal community, I think you can sympathize with my thought process. I say goodbye to you, however...

8 RepliesHere children, we have a basic formula for making attention seeking posts, To start off, you must say that you are a pre Beta Alpha player of old vanilla days. The intended effect here is to make yourself sound important and experienced. While convincing yourself that you are better than everyone else. Next you need to exclaim your past exploits of what I call, "Fun Destiny" Mention the Vault of Glass. And Vanillia terms such as the Loot cave and Pushing Atheon off the map. (Although absent here.) Continue your paper with your PvP exploits and tell your readers how his friends all quit Destiny. Then once you have established yourself as a "Known and important member of the community" begin to go the other way and tell about the glitches and other flaws of the game, that are nothing new and repeated from every post of its kind. And end with crucifying Bungie as the worst developing team ever. For extra points of originality, try justifying yourself and making it sound better by addressing the imminent comments of "just leave already" by exclaiming that the "New noobier members" only say this. As for the final grade, it is rated 90/100% of all cliche's of other posts just like these.

We need more people to make posts like these. Why? Because this gives probably the most criticism needed to actually make the game drastically better. Unfortunately, the case will stand that bungie will ignore posts like these because they don't care much for the one true voice, and listen to the unrefined and uneducated sounding comments that has brashly Infected the forums. The only way to fix it... well, I can't. I'm just the chemo that hurts everyone when stupidity shows its cancerous mug. Though, to start, people should realise these comments are not even remotely geared to seek attention. They are made to inform bungie of there greatest failure. For the community, the retaliation is cancer, people share honest, and sad opinions of hopes dashed, each fact, because they lost hope. What does the community do? They throw out crude and unrelated insults, insisting something is what it is, in reality, not. My recommendation is to stop retaliating posts that are saying truths like, "bungie, the direction you are going doesn't match your mission!" Bungie needs to hear this, and yet, they won't even recognize the most honest cry for hope by not participating in their own forums. That's my rant, and suggestion to help make the most important improvements in the community. * Bungie, acknowledge our worries! You don't, so do. *Community, lower your childish retaliation comments. ( I myself need to improve here as well)

1 ReplyIm gonna sit here and say how much I hate destiny and talk about how cancerous the community is because I was playing ToO and team I came up against used strategy and tactics that out-smarted us and beat us. Thankyou for quitting. The community is less cancerous now.

Nah, its the 1000 hours you dumped into it. What other games can you say kept you hooked for that long? Maybe a handful? After a 1000 hours, its only natural that you'd eventually unhook and swim off to other things (fish puns!) For a lot of others the games still plenty engaging. Also, the community on these forums is shit and don't represent the community as a whole. They are just a very vocal and smelly minority. There are plenty other forums where its community is more like minded. Anyway, hope you find another game that will keep you hooked as long. Try NMS when its out in 14 days!

Same boat bro. I've barely logged on just a couple times over the past 2 weeks. It's gotten extremely boring and Ima day one player. I'll be back for RoI but I think I'm done for now.

1 ReplyI think I'm just going to go back to House of Wolves once Rise of Iron releases. Back to VoG and Crota every week. I'll try to round out my Year 1 collection and maybe get some of that feeling back from the first year of this game. But then, if I have to go to those lengths to find enjoyment in this game, I might as well give it up. No matter. I have a sizable backlog waiting for me.

Trials of Osiris is a lot of things but fun isn't one of them. When I go into trials I know it's gonna be intense and stressful. I also know the likelihood of a favorable outcome is limited. Point being maybe you wanna stick to regular crucible where it's less sweaty and more fun.

Well then, for you, destiny 2 should be the answer... It will have a higher capacity for better content and enjoyment. ROI still may be some fun though, if you are interested.

If I were you. I would skip the Rise of Iron and come back when Destiny 2 releases. Unless you want to play in a reskinned cosmodrome.

Yeah buddy. This game us so fun up to the ttk dlc. Then it came. The bungie bitch slap. Ttk and xmas. All that money they had to make. Oh but wait game was out for a year and all those players are good and were gonna have noobs playing. So we allow nothing to be brought to year two. Then we add some more restrictions. Oh the xmas noobs are crying about classes. Nerfs away. And boom here we are. Stopped playing this game for few months. Came back cause its a good fps. But this time around. Besides nerf post or nerfs in general I don't say anything. New dlc -blam!- that too. New ghorn. Wow great idea. Lets relive year one a little. People take this game personal. Like you own it. Its funny. Yes everyone wants to do good. And we all like to win. But here when we dont. We have app to cry on. Guys bungie could give two shits
