1. I really don't like the "Gaming" sub forum, just in case you might tell me to go over there
So I am wondering if SSDs speed up anything else but the Start up, Shut down and game load times? I built my PC like three weeks ago and now search times are so much slower (even though it's probably my younger bros fault because he is using Netflix all of the time), I mean, it could be my internet for all I know, or the fact I'm only using a 1TB hard drive , but I'm wondering if buying an SSD will speed up anything that involves "loading".
EDIT: if so, please recommend a top notch SSD that will get the job done

1 ReplySSD will make load times faster, yes. I like the combo SSD/HDD because an HDD is cheaper and can hold way more storage, while SSD can load things quicker. It also helps to have a good amount of RAM and a good processor.

2 RepliesGet 2 SSDS. One holds all windows critical files and NOTHING else. (A small one will do). A medium SSD to hold any and all .exe files and a 10000RPM HDD for everything else. Running that current setup and boot time is 5s. Any app starts in 2s. Accessing data is still fast with the HDD

6 RepliesIf it's your PC, tell your younger brother to get off. Or put a password up. Either way I doubt that's the reason.
