  • I'm usually a nice person but your being an ass for asking like that. You're the ignorant one here. You could've simply asked him to do a conversion into feet for you or Google the damn thing yourself. Better yet, go back to school.

  • If it truly was intended as a joke then I apologize. It wasn't very clear to me. The amount of ignorance I've seen lately just seems to be increasingly high lately and people are truly being rude to others for their own faults in education. I really should've just ignored it, sorry. I think I've just been online too much since I have nothing to do my entire 8 hour work shift each day. I like getting paid to do nothing but I hate doing nothing.

  • <3 no worries. What do you do that you get to do nothing all day? I work in IT and have very similar days. 6 figures to do almost nothing! Well, at least until recently when my company cut back our staff by 2/3 and I've had to pick up a lot of slack....

  • Sweet, so same gig pretty much. Do you manage the data center and reboot servers when needed or deal with customers/users?

  • Some specific data centers may do what you're asking. But most never touch customer servers. Most data centers are basically real estate for servers. Customers lease use of your facility but provide their own hardware and their own techs when needed. So pretty much everyone who is actually employed here is either facility techs for the power and such or basically customer service. Routing wires is the most exciting thing probably.
