Extremely lucky kills like this shouldn't be used to judge whether or not something needs a buff or nerf. It's like showing a clip of someone getting a cross-map no-scope with a sniper and using it as proof to say that snipers need an accuracy nerf. It doesn't really make any sense.
Extremely lucky kills like this shouldn't be used to judge whether or not something needs a buff or nerf.
Like when I used to throw Shatter Nova Bombs over walls across the map like Mortar Shells and get kills.
-
Yeah lol, if someone tried to use your clips of doing that as proof that nova bomb should be nerfed, it wouldn't make much sense.

Now, if you watch the clip closely, you will notice it isn't just luck. There is a high amount of estimation and aiming in there. Hence the jump before the throw. And such.
-
Yup, that's right, however, you still cannot use clips like these as some sort of proof that something needs changes in the game. It's almost the same as someone getting a cross-map, no-scope body shot and using it to say that this game should be like COD in that most snipers should take one shot to the body to kill. It's just simply not true.

I do believe, in my main post, it is implied that the kill would be rewarding. It was a helluva throw and would have been epic if it had killed that warlock. That is all.
-
Look at me and GhostChief's little conversation we had, I think I came up with a pretty good middle ground that could change that.

I think they do show why items need a buff ... If I was that guardian getting killed by that throw I would find it hilarious. I would totally laugh about it. It's those ridiculous shots that keep things funny and remind us all how crazy a game can be. It is why snipers should be left alone, shoulder charge should be left alone, and why the throwing knife and other nerfed items should be returned to former glory ... If you are someone who takes it all seriously, then there is always a way to find a counter. Plus, it's not like kill streaks get you anything really, other than sweaty bragging rights.

I agree with all of what you're saying. Honestly, idk why they nerfed throwing knife damage, taking away the burn was enough in my opinion. And I honestly wouldn't have been mad if they didn't nerf throwing knives in any way, shape, or form. So, I was thinking of a middle ground. Maybe throwing knives should do an increased amount of damage depending on how far away your enemy is. For example, a shot from that far away like in the video would do enough damage to destroy any super. If the person was in close proximity though, the normal damage that it used to do would be done. Then if you're at optimal pulse rifle range, it would a one-shot precision kill to low armor targets, kill any non-supercharged enemy when you have the burn perk, and make medium and high armor enemies absolute.

That would be extraordinary :D
-
I agree , that would be great middle ground. As much as it is just a game to me, I have to realize that there are some who enjoy taking it seriously and that would let us all get our kicks.

He didn't get the kill

I know, you know what I meant man.

Yeah, it's true. I could do a montage of lucky snipes/flukes but only show the kill and seem like a god. When in reality I'm slightly average
