I never get legendarys or exotics.

Ive been playing destiny since 24th of september 2014. And ive only ever got 3 legendary drops ever! I see people on YouTube get tons from farming or just nearly every mission they get at least 1 legendary. My friend and i always play, and when we are playng he would say yay i got another exotic engram or legendary engram. And i never get any. I cannot do the level 41 heroic strike to grind to get the buff that helps get the engrams because its too hard i get one shotted and die. My light is 245, i have awful terrible weapons. Before on year one i had all legendary gear and exotic. No the year one gear wasnt engrams as i said i never get them. I brought them when vangaurd marks were still around and i brought the exotics of zur. I NEVER GET ENGRAMS! What am i doing wrong, will i ever be cool in this game. I have all rare armor because year two rares are better than year one legendarys and exotics. i brought all my gear. I want to find a legendary like all my friends do and all the YouTubers do. Why am i so unlucky. What did i ever do to destiny!?

  • So you've gotten a near full set of legendary armor in 8 hours?

    • Once you reach level 40, there's really no excuse for not getting to at least light 280. You can buy 280 gear from just about every vendor using Legendary Marks... which are simple to get. Once you hit 280, a fair amount of the gear dropped will be higher than that.

      • Hi TheTrinity, Getting legendary and exotics to drop from playlists all comes down to the RNG roll. I would recommend to keep equipping gear which has a higher light/attack level, than what you currently have on. Especially when you are going to decrypt any engrams. Some vendor gear would be a good purchase, if you have gathered up any legendary marks. It may give you the extra light to run those strikes. Which is also a good playlist to pop those three of coins, when fighting ultra enemies (named combatants). Even if you cannot be at the front of the battle, providing supporting fire and assists goes a long way towards team work. Keep at it, you'll start accumulating those legendary engrams before you know it.

        • Hello. As you may know, all loot dropped in Destiny is random. With that being said, the higher your light is, the better chance you have in obtaining better gear/weapons to upgrade your characters. I would focus on finishing The Taken King story missions, doing your daily Vanguard bounties, and seeing Xur on the weekends for Three of Coins. This will give you a chance to get some exotic engrams after killing Ultras or finishing Crucible matches. There is no exact science to this, but the "Law of Large Numbers" applies. The more events you take part in, the better chance for loot you may get. Make sense?
