I think the Interplanetary Wars is grounds for some excellent stories and fiction, however, the likelihood of it getting fleshed out is unlikely as nothing about it can really be tied to the meat of what Halo is about. Honestly, if 343i were to get someone to write A Soldier's Tale: Rainforest Wars, I'd probably be content for a long while. The second is in regards to the societies of the Covenant species. Even with entire books delving into the Elite's culture, we still largely know of only their military. Even less so for the other species. All we as players (and even people in the Halo Universe) know, is the Covenant's military body. Nothing on civilians or non-combatant life (except for a few Elite instances). For example, the Covenant typically only take the best and brightest of a given species' members (grunts excluded) for a role in the military. This means that we've only been interacting with a minority. It's a strange thought that the majority of the Covenant's citizens are completely unknown to us and for them, they have never even seen a human before. In a way, humanity is still isolated.
