Hate mail for speed running in heroic strikes
So I was running through some heroic strikes today. I was running past all the useless enemies so that we could speed through it. I got to the boss and wiped to bring the other two forward. They proceeded to send me hate mail calling me a coward and unskilled for running past useless enemies.
Since when has speed running become unskilled

For the people saying I think my way is the only way to run strikes, you're wrong. I don't believe that. I understand people run it different ways. I'm simply stating that it's sad that people think speed running makes you unskilled at this game and send hate mail over it

I admit, it was kind of inconsiderate of me to pull them forward, but at the time I had soloed half the strike and just wanted to finish it finally. When I go into match making, I don't expect people to do things exactly my way. It's every man for himself. If someone kept killing ads at boss or kept dying at boss, I wouldn't send hate mail over it. It's my risk for using match making. My point is stop expecting thing to go your way of you use match making, and don't send hate mail for it, because you chose to use match making

Wow so much salt for speed running. I bet half of you are taken tots. Would have liked to see you try grinding strikes in HoW. You would have been screwed. Everyone was speed running trying to get a dry rot or a hopscotch pilgrim

I kill all the majors whenever I do strikes. Even majors like the hydras in the part with pikes in winters run that everyone drives past or the majors in the shrieker room for Alak-hul; I'll stop to kill those. I don't care if you speed run as long as I can do this and not get pulled through.

Ignore people, had spare time today so hopped into heroic strikes playlist. It was a blessed relief to have two competent fellow speed runners. They even knew the cheese for the boss on Echo Chamber strike. Smashed 4 strikes in an hour. It. Was. Bliss.

1 ReplyIf someone speed runs, then I just go with the flow and follow along. If it looks like everyone is killing everything, then I do that. Either way is fine with me.

My buddy and I run both methods as we like to call them speed runs, and total annihilation ask depends on our mood

Keep speeding through. On a strike the only thing ppl could possibly miss by you running ahead is a few hundred glimmer.

3 RepliesSome people use those Strikes to complete bounties, and some strikes are needed for particular quests. If I finally get a strike for either of the two things just mentioned, and you rush through it to only make me have to wait in the dumb playlist again, to hopefully, get that strike.... I'd be pissed too.

I'll try going with the flow of my 2 teammates, occasionally I'll rush, but stop if they don't seem to be not far behind.

Sorry, but when it's like the 100th time you've done this, it ain't fun anymore and the ONLY reason you're still doing this stupid ass strike(s) is because rng keeps screwing you over and you HAVE to keep playing this monotonous thing. Maybe if Bungie allowed us to choose a strike from the director AND choose a heroic level, we wouldn't have to endure playlists. Unfortunately, at this point in time, there's very little left that's "fun" in pve. It just a grind. Why not make a grind as fast and short as possible?

2 RepliesIt's called adapting. I typically kill everything in the area before I progress but if my teammates aren't going to help and want to speed run this shit then might as well speed run with them. It's not like you're losing much anyway.

4 RepliesThere are normally plenty of ads for bounties at the boss, so there's no reason not to speed run. You can do patrol if you want the rest of the bounties. I just want the strike exclusives and 3oC exotics

I've taken to dropping into a few strikes and messaging both people that I'm gonna speed run with a booster and inv them to join me, if they don't want to I'll drop out and try again so they can get someone who wants to take 15 minutes for a heroic when I'm looking to run it in 8 to maximize my rep booster.

100% agree only the boss or activity will give any good loot. The ads won't drop anything worthwhile. If you gonna spend your time shooting ads go on patrol. I won't pull them through I'll just kill the boss myself so we can get on with shit

If I'm running strikes with randoms I check their levels. If they're not 40 I'll wait a sec and see what they do. If they're at 300light or more I'm hitting turbo. If you're running a strike for a specific reason or bounty or whatever, drop me a msg. I'm down for helping anybody out with whatever. No need for hate mail though. That's jr. high bullshlt
