So I was running through some heroic strikes today. I was running past all the useless enemies so that we could speed through it. I got to the boss and wiped to bring the other two forward. They proceeded to send me hate mail calling me a coward and unskilled for running past useless enemies.
Since when has speed running become unskilled
Edit:
For the people saying I think my way is the only way to run strikes, you're wrong. I don't believe that. I understand people run it different ways. I'm simply stating that it's sad that people think speed running makes you unskilled at this game and send hate mail over it
Edit 2:
I admit, it was kind of inconsiderate of me to pull them forward, but at the time I had soloed half the strike and just wanted to finish it finally. When I go into match making, I don't expect people to do things exactly my way. It's every man for himself. If someone kept killing ads at boss or kept dying at boss, I wouldn't send hate mail over it. It's my risk for using match making. My point is stop expecting thing to go your way of you use match making, and don't send hate mail for it, because you chose to use match making
Edit 3:
Wow so much salt for speed running. I bet half of you are taken tots. Would have liked to see you try grinding strikes in HoW. You would have been screwed. Everyone was speed running trying to get a dry rot or a hopscotch pilgrim

2 RepliesI wanna solo a strike is there anyway to block people??
-
3 RepliesI wouldn't send you hate mail. If you ran through everything, I just wouldn't revive you. If you ran all the way to the boss and died to bring us forward, I'll just let you solo the boss.
-
2 RepliesIf i feel like speed running then thats what i will do, im not going to pander to random people that i will probably never get matched with again. If that sounds harsh i don't really care, im playing for me and i dont always have hours to spare.
-
Idgaf what they think I'm trying to farm the -blam!- out of the Strike.
-
1 ReplyI'm gonna go ahead and say I probably wouldn't be too happy to be dragged forward like that. Also, that last edit just dissolved into more salt.
-
Why do you care what other people think? If they don't want to get pulled than they should form a fireteam. When your in matchmaking anything goes. Those guys are -blam!- for messaging you like that.
-
3 RepliesThere's nothing wrong with speed running, man. It makes sense. Vanguard boosters and money makers are time sensitive. People always counter with "but what about engram's?!" but the chance of getting engram's is so low that you usually only end up with 2-3 by the end of the strike. Skipping a few ads isn't going to lose you an appreciable amount of engram's, if any.

1 ReplyEdited by Sijray21: 6/2/2016 7:04:17 PMMeh, let the salt flow from others. If they don't like it then they can go find others to play with. If I didn't want to speed run and one of my team members was doing it then I'd just go to orbit (since I probably wouldn't care about the buff with not speed running). I'd only not speed run if I were after certain things (bounty, fragments, etc).
-
I don't go into strike playlists alone, specifically because of people that do this all the time
-
1 ReplyShould have responded with: "Have you ever went fast *Sanic*"
-
Lol I remember I got hate mail for this too once. Guy told me to slow my ass down. Back then there was no teliportation to the boss, so I soloed it.
-
You can pull me forward if you want. Idgaf if you speed run.
-
Yea dude if you wipe at the boss, you're in the wrong... My general rule is if the enemy lands a shot on me it has to die !! But if you want to run through don't wipe and ruin other peoples experiences
-
If the other two in my strike are willing to speed through them, then we'll do it....Otherwise you are just "that guy".
-
I give no shits about any guardians that join my strike when I'm already half done.
-
The trash mobs are completely pointless. I say get it done asap. If I'm running with you and I get behind, I'll be happy for you to wipe to pull me forward. There have been a few times that I didn't notice how far ahead one teammate was, and they wipe and I'm like "nice, I get to skip all this nonsense"
-
You probably screwed up their bounties. If you're going to speed run get a fire team.
-
You prolly messed up that 20 enemies without dying bounty
-
If vanguard boosters are going to stick around then speed running strikes is the most logical thing to do and almost pushed onto us by bungie. If the rep booster worked for a set amount of strikes, say 6, 7 or 8 strikes instead of 2 hours then there would be less speed running of strikes.
-
1 ReplyYeah, if the randoms don't want to run through they can -blam!- off and get their own fire team. There is absolutely no reason to bother with the ads in a strike at all. If you are that bad of a player you need to be doing patrols not, running strikes.
-
12 RepliesYou speed run, then die on purpose to pull me through, I'm sitting my ass down away from the fight and you solo it. I shoot the boss one time right before he dies to make sure I get loot.
-
1 ReplyI don't mind speed running if everyone agrees to it but pulling other random people forwards is just bad. If time is so important I'd recommend not playing Destiny, you'll have more time to do whatever is so important.

Edited by EddieDean of 19: 6/1/2016 11:16:50 PMI usually just go with the flow. That being said I am not a fan of speed runs. I like to enjoy my play time and murder every alien scum I see not really playing strikes for rewards just fun time
-
I have so many dry rots and hopscotch pilgrims in my vault lol
-
Edited by XxnatonxX: 6/1/2016 4:55:28 PMI personally don't think it's fair. I remember trying to do those much grindier bounties in year 1 and people skipping the strikes, not fun.
