Oryx (maybe Crota) will return!
When you patrol the dreadnought (I don't know exactly where) there is a room with a lesser hive soul trapped in what looks like a rock. If you scan it ghost says that lesser souls are not normally trapped like this and it is normally reserved for higher ranked hive. He also says enough lesser souls can bring back a higher hive soul
Boom. Oryx will return! Maybe.

5 RepliesAccording to the lore since we defeated him inside his throne room he should be dead. But interesting theory man I remember scanning it myself but I've never gave it a second thought.

Only his sisters can bring him back through the use of knowledge, Oryx's main task. And they have to be really powerful too, like Oryx before we slew Crota, was very powerful and he always feared that his Sisters were going to kill him. Oryx could have brought Crota back, but he was weaker because we slew Crota. Had we slain Crota and Oryx was fine, then we'd have to deal with Crota again.

1 ReplyThe only way Oryx can return is if one of his sisters defeat a species using knowledge, which is what Oryx was tasked with. When they killed each other through out the Book of Sorrows, they revived each by defeating civilizations with their slain siblings task.
