Theory regarding missing sterling treasure:
Those of us who played anything early Tuesday, before the update, are the ones who aren't getting them. Your "free treasure in the postmaster" code awards it the first time a player logs in to Destiny after weekly reset. When the update went live we signed out, signed back in, and the game said, "This isn't your first log in since reset, no treasure for you, oh most loyal of players!"

I was right? The Hotfix notes make it sound like I was right. Go me.
-
I never played anything early, first I have touched destiny in a month was yesterday

Very intuitive theory! This is true for me. I was logged in prior to the update and logged out a couple of hours to run errands, when I logged back in to update and play, no treasure box at the postmaster.

Great thinking! I hope bunjo see this.

Edited by Nashtalia: 4/14/2016 11:34:25 AMexcept i didnt log in destiny pre patch and yep, i have no sterling box in the post master

But do you shut down Destiny completely after each play session? (On Xbox, go home, open menu for Destiny, select "quit," then turn off box?) I don't, I usually just power off when in orbit. When I come back the next day, or even a couple days later, and open Destiny I get an error message saying I have been signed out of Destiny, sign back in.... How long did Destiny servers register me as signed in? Could that roll past the reset? Just thinking up a few ideas. Hope Bungie fixes it soon.

i log out (im xbox one) by going to settings and select change character, (i only have one character) and then press the xbox button and completely turn off my xbox
-
When you come back, without starting any other game or app, do you get the title screen (press A) or an error screen (press B)? Powering off in orbit instead of the character select screen gets me the "you have been signed off" error message.

i get the title screen with the press A to play

Well then, I guess my theory wouldn't explain every person who didn't get a box in the postmaster. Hopefully somebody figures it out.

Good theory - sounds feasible
