Why oh why then are you putting Australians, Mexicans, Europeans in my lobby? Seems like every game! I live in Minnesota. There's NO reason for me to be playing with these people thousands of miles away.

10 RepliesThe bar system is based off of ping rate. You CAN get a low ping with player across the world if connections are good. Connections are NOT how "fast" their internet is. If you see a consistent amount of "red bar" players, I'd suggest making sure your network is configured properly. Specifically UPnP enabled on your router WITHOUT manually port forwarding and making sure you have nat type 1. If you have a combo modem (has a router built in) and a router connected to it, make sure the modem is set to bridge mode. Should clear up a lot of the problems your facing.

The connection based priority match making does NOT come into play until 3/8 as stated in the daily update. During IB, both IB and control were tested with CB/SBMM combo but then it was shut off in regular crucible at the start of this new week. As of the 8th just like it says, it will start on connection based and then go to matching on skill based after that so it will be a tiered system. ToO will use that for the first 6 matches and then connection based match making is ended and it goes off of score card from there

10 RepliesEdited by JetEyeKnight: 3/5/2016 5:53:38 AMJust got matched against 2 invincible Japanese dudes red bar lagging around the map. So I ask again, how exactly do you prioritize connection quality over skill? Sure Bungie, red bars clearly have the disadvantage wink wink.
