Matchmaking changes are now live in Iron Banner
Matchmaking changes are now live in Iron Banner. You can read more about the details in the blog post that is linked. Basically we have made some adjustments to matchmaking that should assign more emphasis to connection quality. Thanks.

1 ReplyAfter playing 100+ IB this week, could be the game/crucible type, I personally think this series was the worst IB. The lag is lag. I'm used to the Destiny lag from before, so nothing new. I just couldn't tell the difference from the "changes". What made this IB WORST for me was the the new "matchmaking". I can understand being re-matched into a 6000+ points losing team once, but not 3 times in a row. This 3 in a row losing team matchmaking happened just too many times for me. Of the 100+ IB matches I played, I was probably put into 30 to 40 in progress games that were losing by a lot (6000+ points). I think I may have joined 1 or 2 games on the winning team, maybe. I don't mind losing, but let me earn it by playing a full match. I hate being matched into a badly losing in progress match and only lasts about a minute. I was really excited about all the "changes", but my experience was nothing but negative. Hence this IB was the WORST for me. I hope I was the only unlucky one and everybody else's experience was positive.

Wednesday to Friday played great - whatever you did for the weekend made it my worst experience yet - lots or red bars and disconnecting in IB. Don't even get me started on ToO. 7-0 and one of our team gets disconnected in next 2 games. The most red bars I have ever seen in ToO.

In my personal experience, connections seemed to be better Friday and Saturday, the only red bars were grouped in a fireteam. However, on Sunday(1/31), things seemed to get worse again. 4 RepliesYou out did yourself bungie. Today is even worse than yesterday. Green bar lag is everywhere. No one can hurt eachother or the game is where only one team can hurt the other. Are you really trying to kill your game?

People with netdumas are still reporting lag spikes and 100 - 200 ms plus average latency. Some worse. If you would just region lock this and prioritize connection we could get games down to 60 milliseconds and thats going all the way across the US. I'm not really sure where the point is but there is a point where there is enough latency aim assist does not work, hits do not register on time, and you're absolutely going to lose if you get in a match like this. It's still happening. It's ridiculous I can go to my local tower and see all of these names from my area, yet when I go into crucible I see profiles from other countries

I've had at least one grey bar in every match I've played, usually one per team. But...hasn't made the experience poor. I have also noticed that most matches over the weekend were terribly one sided. More mercy rules in two days than I've seen all year. Maybe teams are laying down for quick gear, dunno...but I've been on both sides of the coin, and it gets boring quick. Hit 5 on all three characters this morning, got ok stuff. Still after that scout with an explosive round roll, though. Thanks for reading.

2 RepliesI did several games on regular crucible last night. Guess what? Players are still teleporting and kills and melees not registering immediately. You guys are playing mind games. Come back to us when you REALLY fixed the problems!

1 ReplyOnly had a few issues with ppl rubber banding around. I think I played 16 matches total with 2 having issues. That is more than what I normally deal with. I do seem to be matched with more ppl that have yellow bars than normal crucible.

Since the second update I've found the games laggier. It's almost like they put sbmm into the mix too much again... Connections are sucking right now

They work perfect for me Cozmo. Have been having great matches since the first and second patch. I know alot are complaining so thought it would be nice to hear from someone who thinks the patches are great and working. Have a nice day.

The second fix is terribel. Lags like hell. The first was way better. Even fun to play with no lag.

2 RepliesIt's finally happened. After everything that's gone on I have literally reached the breaking point. I stopped playing 3 weeks ago when the game reached the point of unplayability. Now it's IB again my favorite time. Logged in to play and, after 2 patches to fix the net code had the same insanity inducing lag. This afternoon I took the life of my remote in anger and vowed that would be the end. When I crush a controller with my bare hands it is time to walk away. I had a good time with you all There's something great that could have been and destiny is an incredible experience. But I am done. Odin out.
