Iron Banner Rift - As bad as you imagined!
Holy Christ, this was the worst idea ever.

Reasons why:
Shit map rotation. -blam!-ing cathedral of dusk.
Red bars everywhere, worse than ever.
Games get lopsided too quickly, so there are way more quitters.
It's a stupid -blam!-ing game mode to begin with.

I got paired with better connections overall last night, closer to what IB had felt like in the past (so still not great).
Rift is still stupid, and cathedral of dusk can still eat a dick.

5 RepliesRemember when no one was patrolling anymore? Then they added treasure keys for chests for PoE and everyone had to patrol again. No one plays Rift anymore.... why not force people to play it to get rewards. "We put a lot of hard work into that mode and it's not used. Let's make them love it." And I think IB drops are broken again, I played all night on multiple characters and didn't see one IB drop all night. I know a lot of people aren't rank three yet but I had drops from 1-5 last time.

Played like 7 matches last night, won 3 Ib is always kinda meh for me, it was most fun when it was clash imo

2 RepliesYeah it wasn't very good for me last night. One of the worst experiences I have to date actually hahaha. There was a stretch of 4 games that were just a joke. First game my team gets mercy ruled, which is what ever we didn't play well at all. So the game breaks up the teams. I get put into a game in progress where the team I was joining was moments away from being mercy ruled. So the game ends a minute after joining. Go back to orbit and again the game breaks up the teams. I join another game in progress after that. This one I knew was going to be bad because I saw 3 other ships joining me. So it was pretty clear that the entire team I was joining had quit. While I'm loading in I can hear Lord Salad say the spark is charged, and then that the other team has collected it. A few seconds later its scored. By the time I actually loaded in the team was on their way to score on our rift again. So again after about a minute the game gets mercy ruled. And again I go back to orbit and it says it breaking up the teams. I then joined a 4th game in progress that ends with being mercy ruled. After all that all I could do was laugh and not take IB serious any more. It was probably the stupidest series of games I have ever played in any game. So I have already given up on IB, I will continue to play a little bit but I certainly won't be taking it seriously or caring at all.

There will be more noobs mixed with good players. We will be back to the days when people asked for skill-based matchmaking.

4 RepliesOne Cathedrial of dusk is the best crucible map in the game Two Crucible has the best connection out of any game to date Three the gamemode is the one that gets the least lopsided in the entire game and Four the concept of the rift gamemode is the best concept of a gamemode in a game ever.

I was pretty pissed about everything when they announced it. Got no mercied in my first game. Lost the next 4 with another no mercy in there. Then things miraculously turned around. The only thing I didn't complete on my hunter yesterday was reaching rank 4. It's a lot more fun when you're winning.

Just had a game where I was matched with 4 in a fireteams...the were all AFK Shaxx waited till the score was 17k to 400 before calling it..wtf Lag is real...can't wait...one.more win and a heavy kill and bounties are done..will turn them all in Monday

3 RepliesIt's pretty terrible. Especially if you're solo. It is pretty terrible even if you have a fire team. Far too many quitters. Far too many poor connections. And far too many spawn campers. And this is from a guy that loves the game and iron banner.

The lag is rough, but this is destiny with peer to peer networking...no good way around it. The bigger problem is the solo players who are too dumb to know its an objective game and not clash. Cant tell you how many idiots I've seen setup for sniping lanes that provide no value to the team.

I have played 15 games today as a solo player, won 11 and lost 4. Only experienced 2 red bars in those 15 matches, that were blinking the whole time. I don't know why everyone is hating rift, because it is more fun than both control and clash imo, even though I feared the opposite when they made the announcement.

Yeah. Phased me out. Power level matters and No team+ never raided ttk= losses upon losses Destiny was the best game I ever played tho. But if I won't commit to raiding, then I have to let go. Time to move on. The game is truly evolving to is personage. Team based shooter. I not mad though Thanks for all the fun bungie, you guys in the community are great, as well

I have never gotten this pissed off in a crucible match, but this game mode in IB.... makes me want to punch someone. I know quitter will be quitters... But I must say, the rate that people are quitting now is like at an all time high because the scoring is shit and the lag has always been ridiculous.

Well, hopefully them switching back to connection based matchmaking today will solve the red bars.... can't help ya with the other problems though. Lol!

5 RepliesI played solo for a few hours last night. Went into it thinking it was going to be painful, as I haven't played much rift and didn't like it when it was the daily pvp match. And I haven't played Destiny in 3 months. It actually wasn't bad at all... Only had lag issues on maybe 2 deaths, and I was the highest scoring player in most of my games. Won more than half of the games I played I beleive. TL:DR: Git gud
