Iron Banner Rift - As bad as you imagined!
Holy Christ, this was the worst idea ever.

Reasons why:
Shit map rotation. -blam!-ing cathedral of dusk.
Red bars everywhere, worse than ever.
Games get lopsided too quickly, so there are way more quitters.
It's a stupid -blam!-ing game mode to begin with.
Edit 2-
I got paired with better connections overall last night, closer to what IB had felt like in the past (so still not great).
Rift is still stupid, and cathedral of dusk can still eat a dick.

2 RepliesI've just had 13 games without a loss in rift. am guesing the main people moaning usually use snipers lol.. been seeing them at back map trying to snipe the spark point.. idiots. IRON BANNER RIFT WAS A GREAT IDEA

1 ReplyNot fun by yourself. I have only played 7 matches and it's been vs a team of 6 everytime. Not a chance unless I wait for clan members to get on. Clash was the best mode I think.

I've been standing on the rift as the runner, waiting for that almighty slam dunk but nope, I just stand there and then die to some moonwalking guardian on the other side of a wall, shooting out their back. Take all skill based matchmaking elements out the game. What good is skill when your enemy can teleport and is immortal? It's so annoying and yet I can only blame myself for being addicted to the grind that is Destiny haha Edit - IB connection is actually worse for me since the patch

1 ReplyThe biggest problem with IB Rift is the sweaty desticles that play it. I've played 3 games today and in each one, there was one team who just sat in their spawn waiting for the runner to get near and KAPOW! IB is a high profile playlist in that a lot of people play it when it's available. With that many people blatantly disregarding the point of the game type, its an abysmal experience. If everyone played it like the neutral bomb/single flag game type that it is, it would be viable. But they don't, so this week is painful. Please Bungie, please no more IB Rift. EVER.

I thought that going in and I have completely changed my mind. I have had no lag in any games and have played solo and with friends and I have had a great time.

6 RepliesLess than 24 hours in and I have all my Guardians at Rank 3 and that was just 2-3 hours each. After reading all the pre-posts which did make sense I was expecting anger and frustration but its just another IB event for me and something different. Winning most games and having fun so for me I don't see what the big deal is with all the hate.

Personally I love rift but the map rotations are terrible. And so many lagging asses!!

7 RepliesI have played a lot of crucible the last few months. It is obvious when someone has a bad connection and when someone is cheating (lag switching). I believe that bungie is now using connection speed of players as they are currently showing in matchmaking. BUNGIE -PLEASE ADVANCE THIS TO USING A POOL OF A PLAYERS AVERAGE CONNECTION. Those lag switches are not turned on while they are in matchmaking. They wait they are in a match or losing. If I am always showing a green bar connection I don't want to be paired up with any player that has a connection that constantly fluctuates (good indicator of a cheater). You could improve on this even more by going back to the days when you guys actually kicked, suspended, or investigated players that were cheating. Let’s make the crucible a happy place again!

I've played solo the whole time and am rank 5 on all 3 characters. I have lost my fair share of matches to fireteams. But you get medals for losses and it was no problem at all getting rank 5. Having a fireteam is a clear advantage. But it's really not that bad. Solution is get a fireteam. I'm pretty much a solo player so didn't bother. Havnt really encountered many red bars for some reason. I think whatever they did with matchmaking worked because it's been horrible for the last month and I see a noticeable difference. My only complaint is the loot. For rank 5 packages I got 3, 310 ghosts like always.....switch it up bungie. Same thing every iron banner and nightfall. We don't need them. And my other rank 5 loots were a 310 bond. A 310 helmet and a 310 machine gun. Helmet and bonds were better in SRL. And to top it off my helmet had a perk of more super energy from heavy weapon kills on PVE minions. This is supposed to be end game pvp. Level advantages are enabled. I'm fighting people who are 315 to 320 light using 320 weapons. Why are all my loots in the 280 range with my rank 5 packages worse than what I have equipped. And yea... cathedral needs to go lol. "Defend your runner". I cant. I'm 200m away. I'm sorry, I really am.

3 RepliesWent in solo yesterday with 3 other solo players and a team of 2 versus a full fire team of 6. We clearly scared them because when we spawned they left the match. Take win, redeem medallions, laugh. Messaged a player on my team after the "win" and said "GG", he came back with "unbroken" I came back with "best around" lol.

1 ReplyRift = Spawn Camping Because the mechanics of the Rift never flips the spawn, one team can easily take control of the middle of the map and push into the enemy area and kill people as they spawn. Not to mention since most heavy ammo spawns are in the middle of the maps, they get both drops. That makes the game to lopsided. An easy fix would be to reset the spawn after the rift is ignited.
