What's up with dudes being assholes to girl gamers?
So to start things off I'm a guy. Anyway I don't see why men have to be so rude to female gamers? Especially if a woman is a great player.
Like the other day I was getting randoms for a normal raid run. Well a female was the first to join and I invited her to a party. Well she asked me if it was ok that she never done the raid before, and that I would help her out. So obviously I told her yes because I don't mind helping new raiders.
I found other people and I told them that she has never done the raid before and they said they were cool with it. We got through the first part no problem and she was doing better than the others.
We get to the ship jumping puzzle and I told her to just follow me and I'll walk her through it. Of course for your first time she was struggling so if she would die I would just die to go back and help her. Well about 5 minutes we got to the first check point and the other randoms were already done. She kept appologizing when she would mess up because she felt bad.
After about 10 minutes and still haven't gotten through the jumping puzzle the others started to get angry. After one more time she died they ALL started saying things like:
"This is why girls should be in the kitchen and not on video games"
"Just go kill yourself you can't even get passed the easiest part"
And a few other sexual/mean things.
She said "well I'm sorry that I'll keep dieing I'll just leave you guys to finish"
They proceeded to say something like "thank god go back to the damn kitchen you stupid slut"
So finally I said something- "you know what no, you stay(talking to the female gamer) all these assholes can leave." So I kicked every single one out the fireteam. They were still in the party and started saying all these things to me which didn't effect me.
After I kicked them out of the party she thanked me and said she was sorry she caused me trouble. I told her no worries and proceeded to help her get through the jumping puzzle and a few personal friends joined, and we completed the raid with little fails.
Afterwards me, her, and a few friends played the nightfall and some crucible for a while. Now I play with her almost every day.
There is no reason to be so rude to female gamers, people need to grow up.

So being nice to a woman = white knight? The hell? Has anyone here ever stopped to consider that, perhaps, they're NOT being a white knight and trying to make themselves look good, but just trying to be a decent f[b]u[/b]cking human being? Where does all of this hate for women come from in this community? Are they all the same kind of neckbeard who thinks all women are evil or some shit?

Some girl added me claiming she was good and I checked her stats and she averaged around a 1.2 which to me is garbage but that's just my opinion. We got 7 wins and all we did was carry her and she never played smart or got more than 2 kills which is not ok. We played agasint luminosity and he was double carrying so we were confident we could take him and we loss 5-4 because she never got a single kill and would run out in the open and get sniped like a dumbass. We kicked her and got our flawless but man was I mad. I tty not to ne sexist but girls suck in almost every video game and have to be carried by teams of guys. Everythime you see a girl streamer "carrying" viewers its always a guy doing the carrying and her bringing down the team. Its up to you if you want to believe shit that girls are as good as guys but you know it isn't true. Pro teams consist of 95% guys and best pvp players are guys. Girls suck at gaming and that's the truth. I don't hate them i just don't want them in my fireteam having to drag them everywhere dying left and right and them thinking laughing it out will fix the fact that they keep causing a wipe or lose games in trials.

Real life gender does not matter in video games. There are the highly skilled, the unskilled, and the varying degrees in between. Whether it be a PvE or PvP, I expect all players to be competent, so if you are obvious about your gender have miss or princess or queen or lady in your gamer tag and you are on the opposing team, you can count on me to compete honorably and show no mercy and I would appreciate the same warrior's courtesy. And rude? Most players are tripping over themselves to get the attention of a female gamer in rather idiotic, creepy, and unglamorous ways. I often find myself being very protective of the sole female gamer in my clan even though she is capable and does not need my governance.

4 RepliesNice story bro...but honestly sounds completely made up. Don't buy it, sorry. As for the question... you're asking the wrong one. It's not why guys are assholes to female gamers. It's why are some people assholes? And the ridiculously obvious answer to this is: Because they can. It's not rocket science. At the end of the day it's not about gender. Granted on average it's easier being rude to females, because on average most females are more sensitive than the average male. Plus many females don't know how to roll with the punches. Acting like a douche is usually a definite sign of immaturity and insecurity. And when it is, it usually means it's the only way the douches know how to assert themselves and make themselves known/accepted/respected... by demeaning others. When you think of it logically it shouldn't work but most people are insecure to some extent and when you pick out one target in a group, you end up not only elevating yourself but also the others in the group, which in turn leads to mob mentality. You can see how that goes... But having said all that, it can also be fun in the right company. it's hard to draw the lines. Honestly if it comes to gender.... and some guy insulting a girl... my advice would be for the girls. Just stock up on a few good come backs. Something that'll sting a bit... even if it seems mean. Most douches can't deal with those.... especially coming from a girl.

Honestly at the point when everyone starts getting impatient for the platforming puzzles. That is usually when a sensible person will be like you know what lets just teleport everyone to the obelisk relay race. I am the type of person who will laugh at my own -blam!- ups or make a joke out of it. It keeps tensions low and everyone in a good mood.

The difference is the trash talk that GOES with your gender. It will be different. I cant tell a guy to go to the kitchen and make me a sandwich, and i cant tell a girl to get their dick out of their mouth and play. Both insults just leave the insultee pretty much in a "wtf????" kind of mentality, because the insults aren't going to do anything in those examples, and if they do, they are SJW that take offense to everything that comes out of your mouth and that take offense that nothing positive is being said at every moment. SECOND. tons of people that have done the raid before hate with a fiery passion having to wait for people at jumping the ships or repeated failures on a part, even more so when a "newbie" is in the raid and is or is not responsible, as its likely that anyone responsible will shift that blame over to said newbie if present. Again, just Assholes - not sexist, not asshole based on gender, but an equal opportunity asshole. A girl gets insulted for being bad and hes sexist, but a guy gets insulted for being bad and suddenly hes just an asshole. Not how this works. The fact that you even considered it sexist because she was a girl, despite the nature of the trash talk which has to be tailored to the individual by whatever info they can get i.e gender and bad play, makes you the sexist one, regardless if they were or were not. They were assholes, not sexist assholes, just complete, tailored insult assholes.

They all hate girls...go outside and chase some tail....quit crying about a video game. Anybody is welcome to play the damn game if they paid for it.

That sounds like an extremely made up story and makes you look like a thirsty white knight. I actually do play with a female gamer all the time who does suck at jumping puzzles (particularly the ship one). No one has ever said anything like that to her. Sure people do get frustrated sometimes though but never like that. After a few tries she'd just tell everyone to move on and teleport her. I hear all these super sexist stories all the time, but how come I never actually see this happen if they're true? I do play games with her very frequently as she is a real life friend. I've also played plenty of other games with other female gamers in my guilds/clans and have never seen sexism like what you're reporting.
