  • Andy Serkis has confirmed that it's not Plageius. And I don't believe it could be Darth Vader because of the fact that when Luke told Vader he wanted to save him, Vader replied with "You already have".

He name is Snoke. (stated in film and various literature) and is powerful in the Dark Side (Obviously). There are theories that he is actually the Emperor or Vader because there are no known other Dark Side users capable of training besides those two. Personally, and most likely, Snoke is very powerful because he was a rival of The Emperor and even Sidious, so he went into hiding to avoid confrontation where he became stronger. With the Deathstar II destroyed with the only known Sith, he felt safe to surface. Tldr; Snoke is a Sith who was I'm hiding to avoid being hunted by Palpatine. It is often stated in film that the Sith often fight each other. Snoke avoided the situation and surfaced when it was safe. Edit 1: note that this is a huge stretch (HUGE)! But the only previously established character that Snoke may be is Darth Maul. This is because in the Clone Wars Animated Series (Which is cannon). We see Darth Sidious (Palpatine) Fight and Defeat Darth Maul, but spare his life saying "I have bigger plans for you". However implausible this might be, it is the only character that Disney can bring back due to a lack of exposure in major media. Edit 2: As cool as it would be, I doubt Snoke is Plagus. This doesn't come from the inability of it being possible, but the fact that Disney will not reuse any previous material that was not clearly established. It's not a story thing, its a film and politics thing

He's presently known as Snoke. His true identity is unknown, but popular theory suggests it's 'Darth' Plagueis. Plagueis was Sideous' master. But Sideous killed him, so he believed. I put quotes around 'Darth' because I believe he's rejected the Sith ways, having seen the Empire collapse because of the Rule of Two. The Knights of Ren are his new Sith Lords, and there's way more than two of them.

              • I think its darth plagius. The hologram was the same race as what plagius is said to be and the music played in the force awakens in the scenes with the hologram is the same as was played in episode 3 where palpatine tells anakin about him and is played in no other section... maybe a hint being given. I know palpatine said he killed him but he said plagius had managed to learn how to evade death so maybe something like that happened. I might be wrong but i think it would be a cool idea

                • If it's not Darth Plagueis I'll be disappointed. 1) Snoke was alive during both trilogies. 2) The Phantom Menace. Menace. A synonym for Menace is "Plague." The Phantom Plagueis. 3) The scars on his face are similar to the emperors, who received lightning scars. It's possible Palpatine killed him with lightning. 4) He created Anakin. He wanted somebody to take revenge on Palpatine. Anakin eventually killed him. Pretty much everything that happened so far has been fabricated by Plagueis. 5) If it's not him, and just some dude they made up, that'll be boring as hell.

                  • You are yoyr friend are dumb. Palpatine is dead. Only way he would be around is if he cloned himself, but many fans woukd be pissed off. Vader is dead. Done and done. You see kylo Ren talking to his mask. You watch his body burn at the end of episode 6 for his funeral. Boba fett really? He's not even force sensitive. His father wasn't and Boba was a clone. He was created asexually, so he couldn't have it. Obviously this guy is a sith lord. Who do I think it is? Darth plaguis or however you spell his name. He was briefly mentioned in the prequels and it seems promising it's him.

                    • http://www.dorkly.com/post/76914/things-force-awakens-didnt-tell-you/page:2 "We know precious little about Supreme Leader Snoke, even through the new expanded Star Wars universe. It's clear that Disney wants to keep this enigmatic ruler just that for the time being. What we do know, besides the obvious clues in The Force Awakens, mostly comes from The Force Awakens' visual dictionary, and its novelization by Alan Dean Foster. The lack of new plot in these particular tomes doesn't make the minor clues they offer any less tantalizing. For instance, Snoke isn't a Sith. To the best of our current knowledge, that lineage went the way of Jabba's Rancor following the deaths of Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine. He does, however, chomp one Leia Organa's flavor as a "Force-sensitive." This allows him to see the potential in Ben, a.k.a. Kylo Ren, and begin turning him to the side of the First Order. Note that I didn't say the Dark Side. It seems that what Snoke sees in his ostensible apprentice is a blend of light and dark, good and evil, that makes him stronger than either. We know from The Force Awakens that Ren/Ben is all about that internal turmoil. It seems that Snoke would rather encourage this conflict rather than douse it. And it seems Snoke is in a position to know. He's been active since at least the Clone Wars, and had several apprentices before seizing on Skywalker blood. As if it wasn't obvious already you can probably count on this meaning that Snoke is somebody quite important to the past of the Star Wars universe. At the very least these little tidbits set Snoke apart from his imperious predecessor. Hopefully, the latter movies will reflect this and keep him from seeming like an inferior Palpatine knockoff. Clearly something must be done in order to get people to stop laughing at his name. And it seems Snoke is in a position to know. • Uh no Vader is dead clearly, his arc as a character is over we saw him die, we saw his force ghost he's dead. He's clearly not human so that rules out the emperor. And Boba fett isn't force sensitive. Sorry all your ideas were retarded. Popular theory right now is that he is plagasis(? Spelling) but I'm not so sure... right now I think the new Disney star wars wants to distance itself as much as possible from the prequels.
