I find that people die when fighting the shape. What do people do to reduce the chance of death when fighting the shade of Oryx during the final fight of the Raid.
I've played with people who drop a bubble, but I've discovered that it be a hindrance and can waste the clock. I've seen people shoot arrows at the shade, but it sometimes causes him to swing like a wild animal 4+ times in a row.
I just want to see if there is something truly creative out there.

Dont tether him when hes inside, sniper use snipers and hit headshots blessings in the middle just give you that extra boost of confidence
-
2 RepliesTether after he slams and leaves so he doesn't slam twice
-
Git gud? And jump away from him when he slams.
-
Snipe him right in da goonie! ;)

1 ReplyEdited by hunting the void: 12/18/2015 6:15:40 PMNeed two titans with blessing. One titan uses his to take down ogers. The other titan saves his in reserve for the shade. Which ever titan goes in first pops a blessing bubble so no one dies no matter what
-
Your team outside really has to be on add duty. The thralls spawn in the same pattern every time: RLLRRL etc. They should be using heavy and grenades. Inside, if there is a blessing bubble, melt him with touch. Otherwise, snipers then machine guns. There really is no trick. Your team just has to have a good awareness of what is going on around them.
-
Tether him before he enters the bubble, more damage plus it'll help you see where he is because of the Crimson marker over his head. As soon as he enters the bubble have a warlock run directly at him to make him swing quicker so you're not wasting time running away from him while he tries to swing at someone (use a warlock though in case he gets killed by the sword). Then snipers and machine guns for damage. Simple

Never tether the shade inside! It causes him to 'lose it'. Panic bubbles are a waste of time and space. Tether on the outside and use lmg, snipers and scouts. Dps as quickly as possible. Call outs for those players still outside regarding the shade entering... I'm always jumping and shooting outside just in case I get teleported. If you can have one player focus on ads inside it's helpful but oryx is the priority.
-
Well uhm you could you know.. Shoot it? That and just call out when he's about to slam
-
Use your sniper or mg on it. If you tether when the shade is charging in, he'll swing twice.
-
Tether when he's on the outside, let a warlock with self Rez take the slam, make sure people outside are killing the thrall and if the same person keeps dying tell him to switch to red death while you fight the shade, then at least he can get his health back.
-
1 Reply2 titans, 2 hunters, 2 warlocks, give the warlocks a purpose and let them sacrifice themselves if you can't stop him, they can self res and you should have killed him before he comes in to slam again. I just have health Regens on orb pickup but to sacrifice a warlock is easier :) Warlocks have purpose once more 😉
-
Just make sure everybody is watching it. If it comes in, tell people. If people are being caught off guard, it's quite the hindrance. Also make sure that the people on the outside are taking care of the thrall before they walk inside, otherwise it can mess anybody up quickly.

Edited by Brick: 12/18/2015 6:16:59 PMUse tether after he slams and is on the outside rim. Sniper head shots & LMGs. I always call out how many degrees it turns and in which direction. I don't think I've been on a team that failed to kill the shade since September..
-
Snipe snipe snipe. Do not tether as he comes in!!! That will make him slam twice. Tethers on the outside + snipers and you should be good
-
So easy ...... 4 Snipe shots to his head then switch to heavy Machine gun, by then cocoon perk kicks in switch back to sniper. Repeat!

Edited by funwithjaekel: 12/18/2015 6:20:14 PMPop a blessings-bubble if enough people have ToM or switch ToM for red death when the ogre-cycle is over to be able to regen. Never shoot the shade when it turns bluish-green on it's way in for the first slam because it just pisses it off and it will chase you for longer. NEVER EVER teather when the shade is comming in for the slam. That makes it freak out and go ham on everyone. If it fades to the left turn to the left, if it fades right turn right and if it just fades do a 180 because it will probably be behind you. That's about it, use LMGs, snipers, primaries and just shoot the damn thing. :P P.s: also remeber to pop a three of coins. ;)

If you are on the outside and let any thralls in you have failed
-
Have a keen scout hunter track him and call out his location. When he moves in to slam, drop a tether in the middle of the room
-
Make sure youve got a helm that regens health with orb pick up
-
Raze Lighter, Sleeper Simulant, Nighthawk Goldengun
-
If you're first call out when he's slamming the sword so the next player that's teleported can jump. Heavy machine guns work best for my play style.
-
If you're first person in and you have tether, wait for second person to enter then tether. Do the max dps with least amount of ppl. You will have him at half before the third comes in
-
It's easy: shoot him. Lots
