Day 1 player here
Stopped playing after crota dropped. It was completely cheatable and bungie went on vacation for 3 weeks and never fixed the raid other than a minor thing or 2.
I still have the app though it's not on my phones screen. This morning I got necro bumped and couldn't sleep. I'm laying in bed watching TV and just browsing. The app is a great reminder as to why I won't come back.
Edit*
Why I won't play
No ghost skins, broken raids, no character development, no cut scenes, pay walls, no esports support, taken king was suppose to be a part of vanilla game, pvp weapon balance constantly changing, shotguns ran rampant for too long, shaders are lame, rng is bs, game has no "depth" example) vault of glass was big, beautiful and empty as -blam!-. No secrets other than 1 chest to my knowledge have been discovered, Deej is a puppet, he accused me of "wanting to play an old game" when I posted about the lack of gametypes, halo reach was a test run for Destiny, everything is at the expense of the player and player base, timed events, bosses are boring, warframe is completely free and minus the gunplay offers a better experience and more in depth customization, nowhere near enough content, bungie lied to everyone about the size, support and future of destiny and what it looked like
Just can't put time or money into that. I'll gladly come here every few months and remind people though.

The last dlc fixed a lot of your issues

-
Someone's opinion on it having good mechanics but not enough trash mobs doesn't really justify it being bad
-
I can pick 10 random threads and the majority would be filled with complaints be it 1 thing or another.
-
However are they sensible and justifiable that's what's wrong with this community now a days 90% of complaints are satire or just not well thought out
However are they sensible and justifiable that's what's wrong with this community now a days 90% of complaints are satire or just not well thought out
Sensible, probably not all but justifiable? More than less hands down. Though you gotta remember many people are gone. I didn't leave just because I read a few things off this forum by random people. The sensible arguments have been made and most of what you'll see now is "I play everyday and I hate x y and z" you're not gonna see the scores of people that were complaining months ago because they just aren't here. For example, when people say "I'm good at Destiny" or "I'm ranked blah blah blah in destiny" I laugh because your skilled gamers and smarter people outside the handful of intelligent adults that play destiny still who don't use the forums much, simply aren't playing destiny. It's like going to an Olympic race and running against people in the audience because all the Olympic runners decided they wanted to be astronauts so left to do that. Obviously you'll win if you've ran a bit before. The idiot in the stands stuffing down 6 hot dogs and a pretzel can't keep up with you. So if you play moderately you'll be better than the majority of players since their base is pve anyway lol Sorry for long example

Well put
-
True. And it's fine I understand your point now.
-
You still made a valid point because in some cases it applies
-
-
You've listed a lot of good reasons for leaving, now let me ask you...can you honestly say that you haven't played Destiny since you quit?
-
I got really drunk and frustrated on mcc like 2-3 months ago lol so I caved for about 4 games of pvp before I passed out. Other than that, nope. Not once.
-
Lol, damn

WOW, don't know how I missed that post, I'm going to read all of when I get a chance, Destiny better not have a Debate with you on the other Podium, lol
-
Deej got tired of my bs at one point and started posting on reddit lol
-
Lol, I had no idea damn
-
He was announcing shit on reddit one day because every time he posted on b.net he got hit with so much backlash he likely just got tired of it. Everyone was like "why are we being linked to "news" about the game we are playing that's coming from our community manager via reddit" lol
-
Thats weak on his part
-
You realize that Ttk fixed a lot of your gripes right?
-
Maybe, not gonna pay more for stuff that was supposed to be in the game in the first place though, especially after the way they handled crota. If bungie wants to send me a copy for free I'll consider it. As far as I'm concerned I've already paid for that stuff. And its not about the $, it's about voting with my wallet.

Totally agree with you that Crota and TDB was a bad DLC. But I think too many people look at their tinkering with the game in the wrong light. The fact that they're tinkering with the game with updates is a good thing, it means they're listening to fans and making it evolve and get better. They didn't just drop a product and say, "this is what it is, take it or leave it." And as for feeling like you shouldn't have to pay for those things, I mean every game on the market, you have to pay for DLCs. To expect otherwise of bungie or destiny is unrealistic.

Tinkering is more balance for weapons or powers. In fact, they did just what you said. They dropped the game and said take it or leave it including with Crota. People were pissed when the vex mythocast was showing up all over pvp because people found a way to knock vog boss off. Before crota dropped there was a large concern that the new raid might have similar issues and bungie assured us they were on top of it. They dropped a broken raid and went on vacation never truly fixing it because they had already made the bulk of the money they would make from it. Fixing it wouldn't turn a profit. Wasted labor. It's not true at all that every game on the market does this. Plenty of games are giving away dlc or its much cheaper. Ttk was the biggest slap in the face to any day 1 player. Much of the content was originally meant for the vanilla game so to charge every step of the way and really give us no story other than grimore is reason after reason as to why bungie should be ashamed of destiny. Other dev's are seeing the way bungie is being perceived and many are including dlc or at least making sure you know what you're getting and keeping it a fair price.

Well glad to see you're still on the Forums at least, there's alot of entertainment here, lol

Edited post with why, it's meh. Reddit is better
