I am personally of the opinion that join in progress should never be possible.
But if it really is just to facilitate short waiting times between matches, then it absolutely should be a selectable option, not mandatory.

Of this I agree. It stinks to get put into a match where everyone just got and is using their super or you pop in get killed right away and the match ends.
