A player doesnt win games, a team does. I've beaten a guy on a team had alot of kills and he still think he won in some way even though they have 2 words (or 3 depending on the game) "you lose" or "your team lost" plastered on their screen.
See its thinking like this that literally makes my stomach turn sometimes. Kills dont matter in all shooters. I can name you a few games where I can get a single kill and get MVP. However, dont think that kills have 0 importance in games Destiny and CoD.
In Destiny you can play Defensive in Control and have a whole bunch of kills but you've done your job at defending a letter. And if you have a solid defensive line/choke hold on B, then sure you could move up, but still there are flanks that you still need to watch.
Also, Zone control has less emphasis on kills since all of your points come from getting and defending flags. Another reason why you shouldnt worry so much about kills is because you could change spawns of the enemy which is strategically bad for your team.
And what if a guy who like to hog kills if on your team? What I were to steal your kills at every waking moment of the game? Doesnt mean you are shitty at the game, just means I got to the kill first, not a big deal though(annoying though).
All Im saying is that kills is not the end all be all way of determining a player is ass or not.
Sorry for no tl;dr
Edit: The games which mentioned where you dont have to get a kill and get MVP are Battlefield and MAG(Good game on ps3 that is now dead :c)u
