Why does everyone keep saying it?
"Bladedancer was nerfed so bad, no one uses it!"
Besides Grenades and Blink being nerfed(which also affected warlocks) the super itself has never been nerfed. Ever.
If anyone can find me patch notes that have proof that the Bladedancer super was nerfed then please do so.
Oh, and don't give me that "Secret Nerf" bullshit. I wanna see concrete proof.
Edit; My point is that Arcblade never received an "armor nerf" or "health nerf". There are absolutely no patch notes or articles that state it.
Edit 2: https://youtu.be/J8C6zq617oM a video detailing Arcblade year one and year two! Credit goes to Eugeine. Please bring this to light. The 2.0 update has messed around with the Arcblade in general. That isn't fair and should be fixed as soon as possible.

Looks like youre aware of the changes so no one needs to give you any proof. You're welcome. Bungie plz fix

The entire subclass super is based on blinking around to get close to ur target.

I'm almost 100% positive it got a silent nerf where the tracking and hit detection is worse. I can't tell you how many times I've slashed at someone and I hear the sound the blade makes when it does contact so I run away thinking they're dead only to be shot at by the person I just swung at. Also the tracking feels so awful. If someone is below me all I literally do is give them a hair cut so I have to keep slashing the air wasting my super energy on them. Year 1 arc blade was better. I agree with the blink nerf.

I played Bladedancer 95% of the time from the day the game released until the day TTK released. There was a period of time way back when -something- noticeable happened to Arc Blade, and it's largely agreed upon by those who actually played the subclass that it was an armor nerf. You just died faster. What is certain is that all changes to this game do not make it into the patch notes. There have definitely been stealth nerfs and anyone who's played since day one should know this. So the lack of patch notes about a nerf to Arc Blade armor does not mean that it did not happen. Knowing this, I'm not sure why you think you know more than the people who spent an extensive amount of time with the subclass.

It was so badly
-
If you played from the beginning you'd know they did first nerf the damage resistance on arcblade. It was 55% like sunbreaker then got nerfed to 50%. The of course they nerfed blink and lastly they nerfed arcbolt grenade so bladedancer got nerfed significantly since year one

2 Replies^ I F"ING KNEW IT! So it wasn't just my imagination the other day, they did screw with Arc Blade. I was wondering why the hell despite being over top of someone my knife wasn't arcing down and hitting them. So that's 2 hunter supers they've screwed with royally (possibly all 3 and I'll get to that in a second) since when they removed Quiver, it also messed up the orb production of Shadowshot. Before they disabled quiver, I could fire it off with black hole and light of the pack, and literally every single enemy tethered and killed would spawn an additional orb. Now it cuts out after around 6 or 7 max, even with a crest of Alpha lupi and it sucks balls. The one thing I absolutely loved about the class, that it was an insane support role, got destroyed. Now back to my point about Golden Gun, ever since 2.0 I've noticed two things - the first is that Golden Gun seems to be way, WAY more vulnerable to flinching now which is BS - I've missed shots that were dead on because some jackass hit me from the sides literally once and it threw off my reticle right as I fired. The other thing is that even with the range perk, it doesn't seem to cross-map kill anymore or even hit. This has actually been an issue since House of Wolves though, as prior to that I could play a map like First Light, activate golden gun and still be able to kill an enemy sniper across the map in 1 shot if my aim was on par - now I'm lucky if it even registers a hit at all. Fix your damn game Bungie.

1 ReplyPerhaps arc blade wasn't nerfed, weapons have been buffed, nerfed, and rebuffed a whole lot during Destiny. The reason why arc blade feels under powered is because weapons are stronger than they were before. Trust me though, using blade dancer in Crucible is actually easier than it was during the House of Wolves era. That time was when Thorn and Last word could cross-map kill you while in a super no problem. Blade dancers armour is fine, all they need is a longer super I think, and huge damage buff in PvE.

No the actual super was never touched and why would it? Shot gun to the face and its done!

Ever since Nightstalker came out, I've been using Bladedancer and Nightstalker. It's too hard for me to get back into Gunslinger. I work really well with Skip Grenades.

I also have a video to add to that Edit 2. Appreciate that video very much. Thank you. https://youtu.be/KHVsmXwC6oY

2 RepliesIt's armor was slightly reduced right after 1.1.1 back in February. Previously I had clips where I would take on 2-3 people at once and still come out on top. There's no doubt the shotgun buff is the biggest change to how people fought arc blade, but the damage reduction was def scaled back a bit. As far as the other nerfs to blink, QuickDraw, arcbolt we all know how drastic it is. And the super itself now baby blades way too much. I hope it gets fixed with the December class update.

10 RepliesShorter swings, reduced armor, blink nerfed. It's too easy to kill a blade dancer this year verses year 1. You must be new to the game.

Edited by Delta7score: 11/10/2015 12:10:00 AMi think its the better weapons now 2-3 headshots will end u. also fourth horseman

2 RepliesI'm running bladedancer now until I can get quiver back for pvp. The only difference I can honestly tell is the 3 swipe motion. You used to chain 3 swipes simultaneously to cover ground and get kills. Now it just feels like 1 swipe, body rests, 1 swipe, body rests. I have to use my jump very well to land on the body to ensure my swipe gets there

2 RepliesIt never was. People just learned to combat it, or run away accordingly. We're seeing the same thing now with sunbreaker. First couple weeks it was easy to wipe teams because they would stand there and shoot primaries at you. Already, people have learned to run, or counter it.

8 Repliesblink nerf did not effect warlocks
-
I know blade dancer was really broken year one but it feels nerfed to the ground. Nerfed the best nade blink and arc blade feels super glitchy this time around. So many triple melees and nothing registering.
-
Honestly arc blade is super easy to kill or escape as far as supers go, I don't understand why anyone would complain about it.
-
You played since beta you would know

2 RepliesWhen using arcblade it feels like a glitchfest.
